Seven fantastic properties for a group gathering this summer

Go big or go home!

For that perfect get-away this summer, gather the troops and check out these seven great ideas for a group break...

1. The Lizard Peninsula, Cornwall (for 8 guests)

The Crag is a Cornish hideaway with the perfect amount of seclusion. Located right at the tip of the Lizard peninsula in an acre of its own grounds, this eight-guest villa benefits from 180 degree panoramic views of the coastline and lies just metres from the sea and sandy little coves, but is still only a short distance from the village of Lizard.

The garden gate opens onto the South West Coast Path, so you can set off on a group outing along this stunning stretch of cliff, admiring the views as you go.

Nearby is the famous Kynance Cove with its lovely beach and picturesque rocky outcroppings. Youngsters will love the sand at low tide, but remember to be wary of changing currents and craggy rocks!

2. The Lake District, Cumbria (for 24 guests)

Maybe you're planning quite a large gathering? Near Greystoke, on the northern fringe of the Lake District, Blencowe Hall is an incredible, reimagined manor house that dates back to the 1400s. The previously destroyed south tower has been bought imaginatively back to life by glass panels installed down the length of a large fracture. This property injects a little bit of grandeur into your holiday with its four-poster beds, timber ceiling beams and big fireplaces.

There is a pool table and nice gardens as well as access to the little river at the bottom of the property if you fancy staying close and pottering around the site. But, being this close to one of England's most popular National Parks, you'll really want to get out and explore. You can easily reach Ullswater, or challenge yourself to a walk up Skiddaw and enjoy the rewarding views!

3. Norfolk (for 10 guests)

The Pump House oozes tranquility from its fenland position in Norfolk. This ten-guest property was originally built in 1849 and has been stunningly refurbished to now include five double bedrooms, a log burning stove, an indoor hot tub with views towards the nature reserve and a large outdoor decked area for relaxing evenings.

This is a great one for nature lovers with a neighbouring wetland nature reserve just a short distance away. The area is quiet and the barbecue out on the deck makes for wonderful evenings chatting under the stars. During the day there are lots of heritage sites to keep you busy such as Oxburgh Hall, the 15th century moated manor just 20 minutes away, or Castle Rising, one of the best preserved keeps in England, about 30 minutes away.

4. Start Point, Devon (for 6 guests)

In association with Trinity House, Beacon Cottage is a quirky lighthouse cottage in Devon that sleeps six and offers breathtaking views of the coast. You'll be perched on a headland overlooking Start Bay and surrounded by the South Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

You can follow the South West Coast Path in either direction to explore the coast or make it your mission to discover fossils in the rocks. Devon is home to the famous Jurassic Coast, a destination visitors come from miles around to discover. Here you have a great base to get exploring.

5. Cotswold Water Park (for 8 guests)

Thanks to its position this property's south-facing outdoor decking looks straight out over the picturesque lakes of the Cotswold Water Park.

The Water Park is a huge wetland area with loads of things to see and do. Here you are perfectly positioned for outdoor pursuits. The zipwire is great fun, but a brilliant way to explore this area of Norfolk is to sail the waters! Whether you've done it before or not, this is a really fun thing to try and is child-friendly too.

It has a gym, games room, cinema and hot tub! At just a short distance from the Suffolk Coast AONB you'll be able to explore loads of beautiful areas.
