Cambridgeshire Holiday Cottages

Cambridgeshire Holiday Cottages Renowned as the home of the University of Cambridge, Cambridgeshire is a county full of history and local interests. The major Roman road, Ermine Street, was built through Cambridgeshire on its way to London between 60 A.D. and 200 A.D. Much of the history of Cambridgeshire comes from the large number of abbeys that were built over the course of 2000 or so years.

If you're looking for a historical visit to Cambridgeshire for your holiday, there are definitely enough historical sites to whet your appetite. Anglesey Abbey, Denny Abbey, Ramsey Abbey, Ely Cathedral, and Peterborough Cathedral provide the perfect insight into the past and also showcase some fantastic architectural structures and designs, surrounded by gorgeous countryside and green spaces.

If you're visiting Denny Abbey with children, why not keep them occupied with the accompanying Farmland Museum, which takes you on a journey all the way back to the 17th Century? There are some fantastic places to visit throughout Cambridgeshire for families with children, including a number of different museums: The Imperial War Museum Duxford and the Museum of Technology. If you're more of an art lover, the Fitzwilliam Museum in Cambridge should definitely be on your list.

Your cottage will provide the perfect base for your explorations, allowing you to come and go and explore everything there is to see in the wonderful county of Cambridgeshire. For the more outdoorsy of visitors, there are a number of fantastic National Trust properties and country parks to visit, as well as the fun and exciting Linton Zoo, if you're looking for a great day out!

Our wonderfully historic holiday cottages, nestled in the lush countryside and surrounded by historical beauty and grandeur, are the perfect places for you to rest and relax while finding out everything Cambridgeshire has on offer. Take advantage of the fantastic location and make sure to sample the local cuisines, in the nearby cities of Peterborough and Cambridge. Whatever you choose to do you'll find your stay an incredibly enjoyable one.
