Amazing property and location. Quiet (no traffic) with river activity viewable from the lounge, kitchen and balcony. Ferry is very close and can be heard regularly but I liked this. I loved observing the ebb and rise of the tides, and how the view changed constantly in changing light/weather. Beautiful furnishings and decor, layout. What a clever conversion of whatever part of the river front property this was in former times. I have never returned to anywhere before but I may do this one. Thank you.

Barnacles is in an excellent location and as a riverside holiday apartment its design, furnishing and facilities have been very well thought out. Tracey, the house keeper, and her team did a great job in preparing Barnacles and were very helpful over a couple of questions we had. Barnacles is no more than 5-10 minutes walk from any of the shops restaurants etc in Fowey. The two ferries are also conveniently close and open up a range of fascinating costal walks. We had some great walking even though it rained most of the time we were there. Barnacles layout also meant that drying and dealing with wet walking gear was easy. If there us a draw back it is that driving through Fowey to reach Barnacles is not recommended. Much easier to park in Caffa Mills car Park and walk the short distance to reach the property. We had a great and enjoyable stay.

The location and overall styling of the apartment is wonderful. The furnishings were excellent and tasteful. It was a little disappointing to find only the dregs of bathroom shampoo, soap, conditioner, only 1 teabag, no wax in candle tea lights and a broken hot tap in kitchen sink. We notified people of the broken tap on arrival but didn't receive an acknowledgement. We could manage washing up by boiling kettle, but it wasn't ideal.

We had a lovely trip for our anniversary. The accommodation was perfect - we enjoyed the locations as well as view from the balcony. The place was done up very thoughtfully, excellent attention to detail. We were given a generous welcome pack (scones, cookies, wine, eggs, milk, bread, butter etc.) and had good amenities (books, games & playing cards). I would definitely recommend this accommodation to others.

This is a comfortable, very well-appointed flat in a convenient yet picturesque location. About 5 minutes’ walk to shops and restaurants, and close to the car park, but located directly on the beautiful waterfront with views of Bodinnick and Daphne DuMaurier’s house. The car ferry chugs back and forth in daylight hours, which is interesting to watch but does disturb the tranquillity a little. We appreciated the two settees set in a spacious and bright living area, the modern, well-equipped kitchen and luxurious bathroom with a walk-in rain shower. The weather wasn’t good enough for us to make use of the lovely little terrace on the estuary but I can imagine it’s a lovely spot for breakfast or an early evening drink when the sun is shining. The bedroom is a little tight for space and a bit dark, with no outside window, but perfectly adequate. It could benefit from a few more power points to cope with chargers and hairdryer, etc. but as with the rest of the flat, it was beautifully furnished providing a lovely, cosy sanctuary at the end of the day. The whole property was spotlessly clean and full of thoughtful touches, such as the games drawer in the living room and the Smart TV. We were also grateful for the welcome pack, which was very generous and included fresh, local produce as well as a bottle of wine! We would recommend this apartment without hesitation and look forward to returning.

This was everything we hoped for and more. The cottage was modern, luxurious and the location was perfect, overlooking the sea. There was everything you could need in there, the welcome hamper was fantastic, such a bonus after a long journey. The cottage was lovely and warm, the fire was great, we never actually needed it on but the visual effect was lovely plus so many options with the lighting., Plenty of hanging space, drawers and storage space. Everything you could possibly need in the kitchen, even though we ate out mostly, the balcony area with the table and chairs overlooking the sea was just so beautiful and peaceful. . WiFi was fantastic. Bathroom was great and the bath divine. The cottage was so lovely and quiet and private, never slept so well as we did there. What’s not to love! We will definitely be returning.
