Wow! A simply stunning apartment. Kitted out to provide everything we needed during our stay - we couldn't fault it! A gorgeous space, fabulous furnishings, a balcony with a view to die for and a town that had enough shops, restaurants and cafe's to keep us very happy! Barnacles far exceeded our expectations!

Too short a break! We are regular Rural Retreaters and Barnacles must be number 35 over the last 15 years. Being so popular we were luck to just get this two night break. We loved Fowey and its many walks. Very good Sunday lunch at The Ship Inn! As a famous general once said and many previous guests "We will return".

Barnacles is delightful - a lovely place to spend out 42nd Wedding Anniversary. A great transformation of a small space. We loved the furnishings and the comfy bed. Thanks to the housekeeper for the very generous welcome pack. We found the people of Fowey and Polruan very friendly and helpful with our questions of where to visit. The coastal walk from Polperro to Polruan was truly beautiful.

It was great to sit out and have breakfast in the morning sun. We enjoyed feeding the ducks too! As first time users of RR, we thought the cottage was beautiful. It has a really cosy feeling with all the home comforts you could want. Fowey is a lovely seaside town with lots of different restaurants to choose from, although we did eat in more than out. Highly recommend the town of Looe for a days visit and equally St Mawes. It's great to be able to drive and find small beaches - can't remember the last time we sat and sunbathed on an English beach in temperatures of 25 degrees.

A beautiful location from which to explore the area - especially by walking. The best walk being Mevagissey to Fowey, stretches around Gibbon Head and the Way Mark stunning. Hall walk perfect for an evening stroll and walking the river a constant delight. Thank you

We have visited several RR properties and this property is to a very high standard - very comfortable. The weather has been changeable but plenty of entertainment to be had watching the comings and goings from the balcony. Lovely shops and good food to be had. A trip on the town "train" is both fun and informative.

We loved the apartment and Fowey. Spent hours on the balcony relaxing and watching the world go by. We had a great meal at the Boat House and Sams Fish was good. Both quality food and good value. Their Pimms is a must. Hall Walk really enjoyable and Readymoney Cove is a lovely spot for an ice cream. We will definitely be back as soon as we can. Thank you for a great week.

A beautiful apartment in a beautiful setting! We don't want to leave! Like all the guest before us we would love to come back to do all the things we wanted to but haven't had chance to. This is the first time we've been away and not used the car - the long stay ticket was well worth it. The walks and views are stunning. Fowey is so interesting and we would recommend Tiffin, The Dwelling House and Food for Thought for superb food. Its well worth hiring a boat from further up the road with which to explore the river.
