Thank you for the most restful, comfortable and wonderful break in your beautiful barn. We only echo previous comments - the barn is stunning and all those little extras make an enourmous difference. Yummy pie and brownies. We will be back. Many, many thanks.

We spent a magical week at The Barn - from the moment we stepped in the door we were blown away by the effort put into making this a home from home for the guests. Every detail has been through of! Arriving to the amazing fish pie was the best start to a perfect week. We are already planning our next trip and we fully intend to be repeaters. Thank you!

We stepped through the door and it was like walking into a fairy tale! Such a beautiful barn and such a warm welcome. Even garden ensured the dogs were well supplied with balls!! Thank you for the hamper of goodies, delicious fish pie and brownies and well stocked fridge. Nothing was too much trouble and we have had a wonderful Christmas. Thank you.

Thank you so much for a fabulous holiday. Your cottager was beyond our expectations and your home cooked food and hamper were just what we needed after a 7 hour journey. The weather was kind, except for 2 hours rain! We will come back and see you again sometime.

Wanting to surpise my family with something special as we celebrated our 10th anniversay and Sam's first time overseas. The barn and our lovely hosts, including Gordon, delivered above expectations. Little Sam (5) imagined himself a prince in his own castle with Mum a princess and Dad a knight. The space, the quiet and beautiful surroundings really made an impression that will stay with all of us. Thank you very much indeed.

Yet another wonderful stay. On the drive down we so look forward to that welcoming aga, fish pie and brownies and nothing ever disappoints. We have had the most glorious week of weather possible for any month - sunshine every day. Thank you all especially Gordon, we love him, for providing such a luxurious and tranquil place. Wish we could stay another week.

This is the most beautiful holiday accommodation we've ever had! That's true. We especially appreciated the welcome hamper, the brownies, very yummy, and the delicious fish pie. Thank you Christine for the warm welcome. We will try to come again soon.

Thank you for providing such a wonderful place to stay. From the moment we arrived, opening the door and seeing the fish pie, brownies and strawberries we felt at home. I've never seen our two dogs so relaxed and they liked meeting Gladys and Gordon. We will definitely be coming back again, places like this are hard to find. This is a gem. Thank you Phil and Christine for making a short stay in Cornwall so enjoyable.

Thank you for saving Christmas for us. You turned what we knew was going to be a difficult time into a relaxed and happy time. We are so glad we did not cancel at the last minute - although it did seem that would be the sensible thing to do. The house is lovely and all your thoughtful touches are so much appreciated. Thank you.

Dear Christine and Phil. Thank you for a super time at 'The Barn', our second visit this year 2016. As always Christine's eye to detail is marvellous! The fish pie and cottage pies delicious, and the chocolate brownies out of this world! Christine and Phil always so caring and helpful, nothing is too much trouble. 'L' loved her walkies across the fields and with Gordon sometimes. Gladys is always ready to greet you with a woof and wag of the tail. We came 3 times in 2015 and 2016. We are making an extra visit for the New Year. We have already booked for 2017. A wonderful holiday is always had, what more can we say - a 100% recommendation to all those who have not stayed before.

After a great recommendation, we were not disappointed by this beautiful, (dream) home from home. Thanks for being such fantastic hosts - the food, the Barn, the welcome and for making us feel so at home here. M has absolutely loved all of it ( especially the dogs!) and it's been great to see her blossoming country girl side! Hope to see you again soon.

Thank you for everything, enjoyed all our goodies, they lasted the week! Great weather the whole week, and now its windy and rainy and we are leaving for the sunny south coast. T & C will miss their morning walks around the field.

What can we tell you that hasn't been written before? For a first visit to Cornwall, this was the perfect location, ideally placed for visits to all the beautiful sights and towns such as Kynance Cove, the Fal estuar, Porthleven and Mevagissey. Tregadjack Barn itself is such a beautiful, tranquil place and its mod cons such as the Aga, the attention to detail, the warm welcome including a very nice home-made pie and the playful dogs (at least Gordon) made it a home from home. Thoroughly enjoyed by all of us and highly recommendable to anyone.

We have thoroughly enjoyed staying in The Barn. Such a comfortable house. We have loved the fact it is so quiet with a beautiful, private garden. A great base from which to explore the Eden Project, Lizard Point, Mousehole, Kynance Cove, Portleven, St Michael's Mount and St Ives! We will be back and will certainly be recommending The Barn to others. We loved the little welcoming touches, such as the delicious fish pie and brownies and the jugs of fresh flowers. Thank you.

Last stayed at the Barn over 10 years ago and it is still as lovely as we had remembered, with the gardens now more established. Weather has been excellent, so we have made great use of the comfy sun loungers! The Barn has acted as a great base to explore Falmouth, Helford River and St Ives. Chris and Phil have been great hosts and very welcoming and we thank them for making our stay even more special.

The home-made fish pie was greatly appreciated after a long journey. We've had a lovely fortnight. The weather has been kind and we particularly enjoyed the west-facing private garden. There were several opportunities to eat al-fresco, accompanied by Gordon. Cliff-top walks, wonderful beaches, 'tropical' gardens and (many) Cornish pasties were all highlights.

A fabulous barn in a wonderful setting: we have had a very comfortable and relaxing stay at Tregadjack. For the children, we had a fantastic cycle at Penrose and the surfing at Gwithian was excellent. If you have time, visit Predannack Farm on the Lizard for some nice walks and Dexter beef from the farm shop. The chocolate brownies didn't last long!

What a fantastic week we have had in Cornwall. We enjoyed staying in this beautiful barn, which was such a treat to return to at the end of each day. You have thought of everything - we have rarely stayed somewhere so well-equipped and homely. Delicious fish pie, brownies and marmalade - thank you! We hope we'll be back.

Wonderful holiday here in this beautiful cottage in idyllic Cornish countryside. Every last detail assumed the highest level of comfort possible - the fish pie waiting for us on arrival was absolutely gorgeous. We have loved the villages and beaches we have visited and the dogs have enjoyed them just as much! We have had several meals out in local pubs and found the standard superb. Thank you so much for a really lovely holiday. We hope to be back soon.

As always, the 'Barn' is fabulous. Christine and Phil, we always feel so at home here and very relaxed. The yummy fish pie was absolutely delicious and the brownies are too tasty for words! Christine, your attention to detail is amazing, you certainly have an eye for interior design, Wonderful! The beautiful gardens are kept so lovely and well manicured, it's a delight to be in such beautiful surroundings. We feel privileged to have met you both and class you as good friends. We shall be back for two weeks in September this year and will be booking for next year on our return home. Hoping to be down for the New Year too. Thank you so much for your wonderful hospitality. A big 'woof' to Gladys and Gordon from Lola.

We have had a fantastic break in 'The Barn' - what a fantastic home, so well equipped and homely. The sun stayed out long enough for a BBQ so we could enjoy the lovely garden. Christine and Phil were perfect hosts and made us feel so welcome and Gladys and Gordon were perfect play mates for little Eva. We are hoping to return soon and bring the rest of the family to the barn or, if possible, the farmhouse. Thanks for a lovely stay.

Thank you Christine & Phil for making us so welcome to 'The Barn'. We have had a wonderful 10 days in this beautiful, well equipped cottage. The attention to detail is outstanding. Jessie has enjoyed her walks in the fields and spending time with Gladys and Gordon. We shall return again soon.

A truly wonderful surprise finding the cottage down a long, flower decked drive and even more so the treat of finding the delightful interior. Every detail has been thought about and designed with a terrific eye, it's perfection! Thank you for a delightful stay, for the generous goodies (which again, were perfect) and for your warm hospitality. We aim to be back more than once. Thank you Chrissy and Phillip (not to forget Gordon and Gladys).

Before we even arrived we knew Christine would be a great host - so accommodating, friendly & welcoming. Little did we know how luxurious and pristine the cottage was going to be ... we were gobsmacked walking through the door. Thank you so much for the amazing fish pie, brownies and welcome hamper. The highlight has to be Gordon - Jess fell in love with him! We will miss him. Loved Lizard Point, Cadgwith - fresh fish and a great pub. Perranporth beach - amazing dog friendly beach and Kynance Cove - so pretty! So glad we found you, we will be booking again before we even leave.

Absolutely lovely barn. Here for B's 50th. Fish pie and brownies were amazing! Barn is so cosy - we don't want to leave. However - our absolute highlight has to be Gordon - he even tried to board the train with us! Porthleven was stunning in the sunshine on Saturday. We love Cornwall!

What a fantastic cottage. We have had a lovely time - boys don't want to go home! Fantastic beaches, loved St Ives, Eden project, St Michael's Mount and Daddy's special birthday treat - a days "Morgan" hire - fantastic!! The weather has been kind, only one wet afternoon - the boys have even had their shorts on. We would love to come back (dogs thought the fields were great) Thank you so much.

We love this wonderful, cosy cottage. It's fabulous and we've been wanting to stay here for ages. We haven't been disappointed. Thank you for all the lovely treats - brownies and toiletries etc. It's such a treat to have a log fire and a roll top bath! Many, many thanks.

Another fabulous stay. Wish we could take the cottage home with us. So comfortable and beautifully furnished. The brownies and fish pie were so delicious. There's everything here that anyone could possibly need and the dogs loved it. Hope we didn't leave any muddy paw prints behind as the weather was atrocious except beautiful sunshine at St Ives on Saturday. Porthkidney, Lelant (St Ives) is just the best beach for dogs. Thank you so much, we'll be back - again.
A & A, Bedfordshire
28 December 2015
A lovely, relaxing 5-night stay in the run up to New Year's Eve. A really pleasant stay was had by all. What a welcome with a fish pie and champagne on arrival and lots of lovely touches around the Barn. Our only complaint was that you couldn't fix the weather! Despite being so mild, we still had to have a log fire in the lovely loft living room! We'll be back!

We can't express enough how much we've enjoyed staying in the barn over Christmas! It was a home from home with much nicer towels! Every detail of this exquisite, upside down house has been thought of. We've stayed in many places and this is by far the most generously furnished. The pillows (3 each!), the quilt, the toiletries, the welcome hamper, the welcome from our hosts ... EXCELLENT! Dogs absolutely loved it! Thank you - we'll be back.

This was our mini-moon and the welcome pack was lovely, a bonus, especially the fish pie. Loved the barn, it's been done to such a high standard. The owners really have thought of everything. If you want a nice meal out, we couldn't recommend enough The Grove, just a 10-minute drive away. We'll be back.

You can rely on Rural Retreats for a really high standard of accommodation, but this is a step up again! Amazing!! Best hamper ever - fish pie and brownies truly gorgeous, never tasted any as good. A beautiful barn, everything we could possibly need and a beautiful part of Cornwall. Kynance Cove and The Lizard just fabulous. Thank you for a truly wonderful week, we can't wait to return.

Loved it! From the time we walked in until the time we walked out! Can't yet decide on what dates we will return next year. Loved the lilies in the corner of the bath tub, and loved the torch on the bedside table - so used to breaking my neck in the middle of the right for the ageing bladder. Please send me the chocolate brownie recipe. I am not a fan but the owners are in a league of her own. "Fish" from the Quayside in Porthleven is to die for cooking in the Aga - turbot/mackerel/plaice - and a bread & butter pudding in the "slow" aga is really naughty!! Dog walking/swimming beaches at Hayle - Mexico Towans are beautiful. Loobar is a nice walk, but the current was too strong for dogs or children. The "steps" to the dig friendly bit of Porthleven Beach are good for Vertigo and fear of heights! Watch the tide at Kynance Cove, and it is not dog friendly. Mullion Cove is pretty, but the chocolate factory up the road des ace violet & rose creams! Happy times x

We were pleasantly surprised by the high standard of the furnishings of the barn, with lots of personal details. It was set in a beautiful landscape with ample room for our dog to run and play and for us to walk. The owners made us feel very welcome, lovely people who respected our privacy but were around whenever we had questions. Definitely a place to return to! DB & JJ, The Netherlands
