Idyllic lovely home and gorgeous summer weather! We loved the Aga (our first use) and gorgeous lawns and beautifully cared for buildings. Enjoyed touring around Cotswolds - one of our favourite areas of England to explore. Extra treat to meet John and Caroline - warm and very friendly owners.

Absolutely lovely property - so peaceful and quiet and plenty of space! The house is very warm, especially in the kitchen with the wonderful aga. We have loved the fire too. Having driven around quite a lot, there are some beautiful villages - Bourton on the Water is definitely worth a visit. We have eaten in most nights but did have dinner one evening at the Howard Arms, Ilmington. We would highly recommend a visit - the food is delicious. The closest half decent supermarket was Tesco, Stow on the Wold. There is a Budgens not too far away in Moreton in Marsh but it is quite small and expensive (we found).

This retreat for the festive season was perfect. Complete with a decorated Christmas tree, special hamper and Aga oven on which we cooked delicious meals!

A very comfortable and well equipped cottage in a lovely location. We were lucky with the weather, visited Hidcote, Kiftsgate and Coughton Court as well as Ragley Hall. Enjoyed good food and a friendly service at the Red Lion in Long Compton and the Howard Arms in Ilmington.

We don't come back to properties because Rural Retreats have so many cottages, all are brillanat and different. When we arrived in 2003 it was so warm and welcoming with so much character, a second visit during February was a must! We had a brilliant holiday.

Thank you for preparing us. We had a great time in England. We went to Turners fish & chips (fish is good and fresh).

We had such a great stay in this lovely house over Easter. Lots of walks, best pub we found is the Fox & Hounds in Great Walford - really good food. Shipston has lovely food shops and a friendly place. We will have to come back.

We've lost count of how many times we've been here - so doesn't that tell you how much we enjoy our stay. Again I'll say its perfect, very relaxing and great walks in the surrounding areas. Wonderful.

A stunning building, beautifully restored. Gorgeous views. Lovely to be in such place, yet close to Shipston. We walked along the river from the Farmhouse to Shipston and back. Visited Batsford Arboretum, Broadway Tower, saw Twelfth night at Stratford and would love to come back here. IP, London

When we last stayed here in 2005, we said we would return and despite the heavy rain we had a wonderful time. The house was so cosy, warm and inviting. We spent most of our time in the kitchen enjoying the warmth of the Aga, the content of our sensational hamper, interesting discussions and excellent Whisky. The Howard Arms is well worth a visit.
