G & M's second visit but W & r's first. A very comfortable cottage with everything we needed. We were lucky with the weather - only one day of drizzle. A nice visit to Arlington Court (NT) property and also the beautiful garden at RH's Rosemoor.

A very pleasant stay in beautiful surroundings. We were very lucky with the weather so we were able to take full advantage of the gardens, the summer house and its selection of games. Many thanks for the delicious cake. We hope to visit again very soon.

What a beautiful house. We enjoyed three great nights here, a lovely day visiting the valley of the rocks and a great meal at the thatched in in Croyde. The house is beautifully decorated and cosy thanks for the lovely cake and welcome hamper. We've had the fab time and hope to return.

We liked the cottage so much we extended our stay, twice! We loved the summer house and watching all the birds. A truly stunning peaceful cottage in a delightful setting.

Second visit to Bittadon. Just as lovely as last year with added good weather. The cottage is our best Rural Retreat so far and we have stayed in many. Thanks for the cake it was very much appreciated – lovely touch. The J's, Southampton

Fabulous. Best cottage we have stayed in. The welcome pack and the cake is a great touch and very much appreciated. Best beach is Woolacombe, but they're all good. Cycling from Barnstaple station is very reasonable and a picturesque route. Our boys absolutely loved the "secret garden" at the bottom by the pond. Very well equipped that we didn't bother eating out in the evenings except for one night (Squires - fish & chips in Braunton) which we can recommend. We have been coming to Devon for many years, but this is probably the best. The boys will never forget this holiday. AP, Stockport

What a fantastic break. A really lovely cottage in a great location. Very restful with no mobile reception. Exploring the beaches - Croyde, Woolacombe. Hiring bikes and doing the Tarka trail. Great fish & chips from Squires in Braunton. Great place to go running in the woods. The kids loved the cake. Thanks. DF, Berkshire

What a beautiful cottage with absolutely everything we needed. Brilliant location for exploring North Devon. Lynton Bkymouth railway was great. Clovelly was lovely. Glorious gardens that were well explored. Thank you. KF, Wiltshire

What a cottage, the best we have stayed in. Such a peaceful location to watch the wildlife and spend the evening with a cold beer or glass of wine. The welcome hamper was really nice but outshone by the home-made cake. Kids loved the garden and had a great pleasure showing off to friends who came over for a barbecue. The husbands favourite was a walk up the lane to the farm and chat about the milking (spot the ex farmer). Our recommendations for food would be: 62 The Bank in Barnstaple; The Tides Inn, Woolacombe and The New Inn, Clovelly. The best beach is Puttesborough (the other end of Woolacombe) which is good for sand castles, beach cricket and body boarding. Nice and safe away from the serious surfers. For a wet day Arlington Court (NT), good and close by. Hubby's recommendation The Woollacott Golf Course where staff were very welcoming and friendly. Thanks for such a great place to relax. An excellent week. We loved Putsborough beach, Croyde, Woolacombe and Rosemoor. We had good walks around Baggy Point and along the dunes between Woolacombe and Putsborough. Good NT café at Croyde - northern end near Bull Point. The children very much enjoyed the summerhouse and swings as well as the cake. It was a great cottage to come home to. J & K, Cambridge

A fantastic cottage, in a beautiful location. We have loved our time here and are leaving very reluctantly. Attention to detail in the cottage is second to none - even by the usual Rural Retreats high standard. We have all enjoyed waking up and watching the wildlife - the buzzard, deer, hares playing in the garden and countless birds. Would also recommend the beach at Westward Ho especially for children - the best we found. Also liked the Tinnels beach at Ilfracombe. A wonderful holiday had by us all - thank you so much. R & L, Nottingham

A great cottage in a great place. Ten days of mixed weather gave us the opportunity to do a real range of activities from the beaches (we liked Croyde the best) to cycling on the Tarka trail and visiting places like the Big Sheep. Great recommendations from the housekeeper for fish & chips. A lovely holiday had by us all. Thank you. S & A, Nottingham
