Middle Hollacombe Farmhouse details

Middle Hollacombe Farmhouse, a stunning property, created from the ruins of an ancient Devon Longhouse. The immaculate interior combines a welcoming feeling of tradition with clean, stylish and eco-friendly living. The spacious ground floor features two original medieval fireplaces. Upstairs there are three modern en-suite bedrooms with full under floor heating.

Are you an artist? Would you like to use the artist’s studio at Middle Hollacombe Farmhouse? It is a great creative space attached to the Farmhouse with good light and lovely views. Easels, boards and seating are provided but please bring your own materials with you. This facility is not normally available so make a request when you book and talk to the owner. For safety reasons this is a space for adults and not children.

The Farmhouse is tucked away in a gentle, secluded valley surrounded by traditional Devon farmland and set within its own landscaped garden. A true rural retreat and yet only one and a half miles from the bustling market town of Credition and nine miles from the cathedral city of Exeter.

Set in glorious countryside between moor and coasts, Middle Hollacombe is in the heart of Devon. The edge of Dartmoor is just 10 miles away, where lush countryside and ancient woodland gives way to the famous moor. From Crediton's historic station, with free car parking, Tarka Line trains run as far as the North Devon Coast at Barnstaple and to Exmouth in the South. There are good walks from a number of stations en- route. Journey time by car to either coast is approximately 40 minutes. The opportunities for walkers and cyclists in the vicinity of the Farmhouse are many and varied; the Coast to Coast footpath passes within two miles of the property.

  • Your complimentary hamper will contain locally sourced products, most of them produced within a few miles of the farmhouse. This includes beer from a family brewery in Half Moon, cider & apple juice from Sandford Orchard, Crediton, cheese & butter from Quickes, fresh local bread, local Black Dog eggs, Cornish biscuits, Devon jam & granola & Ashclyst organic milk from the National Trust's Killerton Estate.

Attractions and nearby amenities

  • There is a variety of pubs serving food in the surrounding villages, the nearest being a couple of miles away.
  • The National Trust properties of Knightshayes, Killerton and Castle Drogo are all within a 30-minute car journey of the Farmhouse. They all have lovely gardens as well as fascinating houses.
  • Visit the City of Exeter with its beautiful cathedral,
  • Explore rugged Dartmoor.
