This barn is so well-appointed and comfortable, we have had a very relaxing and enjoyable stay. We have had five sunny, warm days with just one morning of rain. Everyone in the area is very friendly and helpful. We particularly like Lyme Regis, enjoyed a 6 mile walk thanks to a magazine article supplied by Caroline (thanks Caroline). We thought West Bay one of the most dismal seaside places we have ever visited, even in the sun!! We enjoyed our Hardy experience - walking from Hardy's cottage to Max Gate and back. It's easier to walk from Max Gate to the cottage as the signage is clearer and prominent.

Such a lovely place to celebrate James' 16th birthday. Thank you for your exceptional hospitality. Enjoyed exhilarating RIB ride from Lyme Regis, Dorset Wildlife Trust evening boat trip on the Fleet from Weymouth, garden at East Lambrook and visit to Bath. Great fun on beach at Burton Hive - refreshing swim in sea and walk to West Bay. Hive Cafe is fantastic - staff so thoughtful putting a candle on slice of cake for James. Great food at Winyards Gap and the local garden centre.

Beautiful cottage in a fantastic setting and what a hot weekend it was! West Bay and Charmouth beaches great finds. A great walk from West Bay to Higher Eype, took in some great coastal views. Thanks for the welcome hamper, much appreciated.
PS - Sunrises were also fabulous.

What a lovely little barn. The children enjoyed the horses, goats, bees, slugs and all the other wildlife they could find! Breakfast at the Railway Carriage Cafe is fantastic and sets you up for the day. If the carriage is full, the double decker bus is better still for the view on the top deck. Enjoyed every minute, thank you.

A really lovely break. We visited Bridport and West Bay. The fresh cod and chips in West Bay was delicious. Lyme Regis was a fantastic seaside town, filled with great shops and restaurants and lots of things to do with children. Montacute House is also worth a visit. Super break - thanks very much.
PS - I loved the lavender outside, the scent was amazing.

A most enjoyable holiday in the New England style barn. We have holiday'd in cottages since 1964 so feel experienced enough to award the barn an A*.

We have very much enjoyed our time in this comfortable and well-appointed cottage. Set in a peaceful (tractors permitting!) rural situation.

Despite wind and rain, we managed to visit Lytes Cary Manor (NT) renowned for its topiary and Lyme Regis which as The Town Mill water mill with art galleries and artisan cafes. We enjoyed an excellent meal at nearby Haselbury Mill. We thoroughly enjoyed our return visit to Larch Barn.

We have all enjoyed a lovely long weekend at Larch Barn. The welcome pack and fantastic and the property had everything we could possibly need for a relaxing and restful stay. Our only regret is that we couldn't stay longer! We hope to come back again soon and be able to enjoy the beautiful barn and gardens. Many thanks.

Thank you for creating such a "fabulous" holiday retreat. Mum and I thoroughly enjoyed our four night break here. Great locaiton for coast, countryside and wonderful National Trust properties. The flower arrangement and strawberries in the fridge were a lovely touch/surprise ... We will be back!

Brought Mum here for some rest and recuperation following her illness and cannot overstate how impressed we have been. Every aspect of Larch Barn is 5* from the location to the property itself. My husband and I take 4 to 5 breaks each year in different parts of the UK and I have never been to a more outstanding property. Caroline and Steve gave us the most warm welcome and we thank her for allowing us to share their beautiful home for a few days. If paradise exists, it must be close to this! The highlight of our last morning - a beautiful pair of rabbits playing right outside the barn, could have watched their antics all day!

We were greatly in need of a good break. The barn is lovely - comfortable and well equipped. The hamper was welcome and has all but disappeared. The setting is ideal, so quiet, surrounded by lovely places to visit. We are returning home feeling much refreshed and hope we might return some time. Thank you Caroline!

We had a lovely stay over Easter, the property is well equipped with a great farm shop next door. The children loved the garden and we loved the peace and quiet. We visited Weymouth, Burton Bradstock and West Bay - all quite different and had good pub grub at the Winyard Gap. The Hive was also good for lunch - seafood. Thank you for the Easter addition to the welcome hamper.

Larch Barn has been a lovely, cosy and comfortable place to stay. It is central and allowed us to explore. The weather was good so we were able to make friends with our four legged neighbours! Thank you fo the lovely flowers and "Welcome Pack".

What a beautiful place to stay for our family ranging from age 5 to 88! Extremely comfortable and beautifully decorated. Loved the bunnies and fieldfares on the lawn every morning/evening. Beautiful villages and farm shop next door. For petrol heads, the Haynes Motor Museum is a great day out, and Barrington Tank Museum. More down to earth days (literally!) were spent fossiling and collecting pebbles at Charmouth and window shopping at Lyme Regis. The Willow and Wetlands Centre has a lovely cafe, great museum and tempting shop. Just how many baskets does a girl need exactly! Overall, a great holiday and memories made.

Had a lovely weekend at Larch Barn, lovely lovely village and we enjoyed seeing the rabbits on the lawn in the morning. Did a walk with fabulous views at Abbotsbury and can highly recommend the Hive Cafe, Burton Bradstock. Unfortunately we missed the local fireworks. Thank you so much Caroline for the baby blankets and eiderdown for the cot - that was really nice. Hopefully we will come again.

Thanks for a great stay over the school holiday week, we've always enjoyed the Dorset and Somerset area and this trip proved great again. The cottage is lovely and perfectly formed for the four of us and the horses, rabbits, deer, cats and door mice add to the setting! We took the recommendation and had a couple of dinners at the Wingyard Gap which was really enjoyable. Trips to Lyme Regis, Charmouth, Montacute were just what we were looking for. The kids collected fossils and we spent happy hours just searching while the waves scrambled the rocks around us. Thanks again! One thing which has been suggested is the need for wifi - that would make it!

A lovely few days stay in a beautifully equipped cottage. Despite a weather forecast of constant rain, we actually had mainly sunshine and were able to visit gorgeous Burton Bradstock beach (food at The Hive is terrific!) and stroll around Lyme Regis which is a great seaside town. Plenty of National Trust places at hand too. Thank you from all of us.
PS and thank you Caroline for the excellent hamper and a warm welcome!

A lovely week spent at Larch Barn - thank you. A really nice barn and good central location. We loved Sidmouth Donkey Sanctuary, spent two gloriously sunny days on Burton Bradstock beach and discovered the beautiful city of Wells for the first time. Abbotsbury and Bridport also, old favourites! H adored the horses and N saw deer on day one, but this was a fleeting visit. Thank you!
I had a lovely time here and I will miss the horses. The light brown one was my favourite! He always came to say hello first! Love H (aged 9).

Thank you for a lovely week at Larch Barn. The sun shone beautifully. E & B loved the goats and, given it was the Olympics, staged many relays and gymnastics in the gardens. We enjoyed North Perrott village life - taking in some local footpaths, the Manor Inn and the brilliant farm shop. Winyards Gap - best pub in England! Best wishes.

We have had a fantastic stay here! Our daughter (5 years) has loved the beach, Lyme Regis and Burton Bradstock and fell in love with the cygnets at the Swannery at Abbotsbury. We had a great day in Weymouth - we hired bikes and did some cycling around the beautiful Jurassic Coast. An afternoon at Forde Abbey gave us a well needed rest! Lovely food at the Hive Cafe and Winyards Gap.

Lovely stay at Larch Barn - can recommend Burton Bradstock (get there early!), Wells and Barrington Court. Winyards Gap is great for food. Best days were spent in the sunshine in the garden reading and talking to the horses! We look forward to coming back - thanks for the friendly welcome and great advice.

One of the nicest Rural Retreats' properties we have stayed in. Lovely views. Must admit to giving the horses the odd apple and carrot. Hive Cafe at Burton Bradstock is great for seafood - just be prepared to queue. Thank you.

We have had a wonderful time here - very comfy accommodation in beautiful surroundings. We've grown very attached to the sheep! We've visited three lovely National Trust properties - Montacute, Barrington Court and Tintinhull Gardens. The tulips in the latter were stunning! And thank you Caroline for being so welcoming.

We have had a lovely week in this beautiful holiday home. It had everything we needed to make it relaxing and peaceful. We visited Lyme Regis which we found to be a great seaside location. We also enjoyed a day in Dorchester which had lovely shops. We visited Burton Bradstock and enjoyed a lovely pub lunch at the Three Horseshoes. Our 8 month old daughter enjoyed swimming at the Crewkerne aqua centre, very good facilities. All in all a great week and would recommend to anyone! Thank you.

What a lovely place to spend New Years'! Despite the rain and gale force winds we braved Lyme Regis and Charmouth - but were unsuccessful at finding fossils, until we hit the gift shop. Thank you for the lovely hamper we've eaten and drank ourselves silly. Congratulations for creating such a beautiful holiday home, in a fabulous countryside setting with modern touches - we loved the shower.

A pleasant few days in this attractive, convenient and comfortable holiday home. It's a long way, but if you like to go as far as Portland Bill (about 35 miles), you can add the Lobster Pot (as well as Lula's in Bridport) to your list of excellent restaurants.

We had a lovely five nights at Larch Barn, a very high standard of accommodation in a lovely setting The horses in the neighbouring field have been lovely. Lots to see and do (even during poor weather). We visited Barrington Court (NT), Burton Bradstock and then took the West Somerset Steam Train to Dunster Castle (NT). Went to both Dorchester and Weymouth but the weather was not great, so would recommend a sunny day. Thanks for the great hamper and lovely scones.

We have had an amazing time at Pitt Farm! A beautiful lodge in a fabulous setting. The location is fantastic, so much to do in the surrounding area, West Bay and the Customs House Market well worth a visit, as is Weymouth and Lyme Regis for a perfect day at the seaside. Hive Cafe at Burton Bradstock beach also a must. Will definitely be returning in the future.
