The Grain Store holiday home details

The Grain Store offers exceptional accommodation including a well-equipped kitchen and dining space providing seating for six guests where guests can enjoy a family breakfast or relaxing dinner. Guests can relax on comfortable sofas in the sitting room which includes a television, DVD player and Bluetooth speaker. A glass door leads to the enclosed garden and terrace with teak table and chairs, perfect for al fresco dining.

Upstairs is a galleried landing with a family bathroom and three bedrooms leading off the landing. Two bedrooms have king size beds, one with en-suite walk-in shower, and there is one twin bedroom with pretty white painted sleigh beds. All bedrooms have fitted wardrobes and all beds are dressed with luxurious, Egyptian cotton sheets and goose feather and down duvets and pillows, just perfect for a good night's sleep.

The Grain Store is set in the rolling farmland of Wears Farm, yet you are close to all the amenities and attractions of The Jurassic Coast. It’s the perfect base for exploring a very special part of the world.

Also available to book at this location are The Cow Byre (sleeping 6) and The Stables (sleeping 8).

Attractions and nearby amenities

  • The nearby village of Abbotsbury winds along a spectacular part of the World Heritage Jurassic Coast. Abbotsbury is a beautiful village, well appointed with two pubs, local shops and tearooms.
  • Abbotsbury Swannery is nearby providing the unique experience of feeding swans and in May and June admiring the newborn cygnets.
  • The village also has a Children’s Farm where little ones can enjoy cuddling guinea pigs, pony riding, goat racing and burning off energy in the soft play pirate ship.
  • The exotic Abbotsbury Subtropical Gardens is a magical haven to explore.
  • To the east is the popular seaside town of Weymouth, with its Georgian seafront, 17th century harbour, Sea Life Adventure Park and Tower, Punch and Judy shows and donkey rides.
  • The county town of Dorchester is only a 20 minute drive away with its large selection of shops, restaurants, cafes, museums and two cinemas.
  • The Hive Beach at Burton Bradstock and its café, serving fresh local seafood and home made cakes is also nearby.
  • Further west is the bustling market town of Bridport and the colourful, pretty town of Lyme Regis, with gentle waters for bathing, ideal for children.
  • Dorset is the heart of the author Thomas Hardy’s Wessex, an area steeped in history. There are plenty of Hardy-esque villages to stroll through and perhaps enjoy a pint and a ploughman’s at the local inn.
