August House details

August House is a unique, newly modernised country house in one of the Cotswolds’ most picturesque hamlets. Built in 1872, August House was once the village rectory but in recent years it has been lovingly transformed in to a beautiful home, perfect for family holidays and weekend get-togethers. The house is wonderfully spacious with the ground floor featuring a large kitchen/breakfast room, family room, two sitting rooms, dining room and children’s playroom. Upstairs each bedroom is beautifully decorated with double beds and en-suite bathrooms.

Situated on a secluded spot on the edge of Hampnett, the house is surrounded by countryside. Guests have approximately six acres of landscaped parkland to explore as well as large gardens with formal lawns and box hedges. A heated outdoor swimming pool is available daily during the summer months.

On August House’s doorstep are wonderful and historic attractions such as Chedworth Roman Villa, Blenheim Palace, Hidcote Manor Garden, Snowshill Manor and Highgrove House. A short drive away are the quintessential Cotswold towns of Bourton on the Water, Stow-on-the-Wold, Cirencester, Tetbury, Broadway, Chipping Campden and Burford. In each of these places a wide selection of interesting independent shops, restaurants, pubs and cafés are waiting to be found. The house is easy to reach by car with journeys from London taking approximately two hours. Mainline rail services run regularly from Paddington to Cheltenham Spa or Kingham.
