A lovely country retreat with everything we needed - especially loved the fire. We would highly recommend The Three Choirs Vineyard - we did the tour and had lunch. A beautiful calm and peaceful place, perfect to relax and unwind. The cottage had everything we needed for a relaxing weekend away. We were also fortunate enough to enjoy the early spring sunshine.

We've had a lovely "escape from the world" weekend. Distinctly reluctant to leave this morning. The fire and the copper bath are phenomenal, we've had a lovely walk, a great meal at the Kilcot Inn and sampled the wines of the local vineyard. We've also had the home comfort of the local panther (ie friendly black cat!) curling up with us periodically! In absolutely no rush to rejoin the real world! Thank you for the refuge!!

A lovely 3 day break between Christmas and New Year. We enjoyed the wood burner, Aga and huge bath! And went running in the Forest of Dean, cycling following the Newent loop and enjoyed dinner at the Three Choirs Vineyard Restaurant. A very relaxing break.

A last minute break for my husband's birthday ... a lovely cottage, with a home from home feel. I loved the Aga and the bath - a real break! We visited Ledbury and Bath. Although an hour's drive, Bath is wonderful and worth the visit. We did the Roman Baths and felt at £15 it was good value. Thank you for the hamper, the wine slipped down nicely. A lovely retreat, as a cat lover, we made friends with 3 adorable cats. The long haired black one was especially welcoming. I could have taken him home!

We've had a lovely time in our wonderful cottage, it was everything we could have asked for for a relaxing weekend away and the cats are adorable. Tips for future guests - try the Moody Cow pub/restaurant about 15 minutes away towards Ross-on-Wye - lovely food.

Thank you Peter for creating this lovely cottage. My husband and I booked a break away last minute as we desperately needed a getaway from our hectic lives and not having Wifi or signal was the perfect way to shut off from the world and actually relax! Cooking with the Aga was fantastic and interesting after we figured it out. We fell in love with the black, fluffy cat, she visited us every day. Walked up to the vineyard which was lovely; bought groceries at the Over Farm which was a lovely way to support local produce. One day we went to Cotswold Wildlife Park, we enjoyed it so much and after went to Daylesford Farm which is an organic farm/shop/florist/restaurant and wellness centre/day spa. Daylesford was a real treat and worth the drive. We loved our stay so much that we are thinking of booking again soon! Thank you.

Thank you Peter for a great stay. The Aga, wet room and most of all the copper bath are all great touches in creating a romantic rural retreat cottage. The welcome hamper is also a lovely extra meaning we could enjoy relaxing on our first night without having to worry about a food shop. It is a great location with many pubs to see and things to do, all within a manageable drive. Our recommendations would be Bourton-on-the-Water, the Forest of Dean, Eastnor Castle and most of all the Three Choirs vineyard next door!

Thank you Peter for a lovely cottage, booked last minute for our wedding anniversary weekend. The cottage was cosy, relaxing and welcoming. We have used Rural Retreats for over 20 years and this lovely cottage lived up to expectations. We were so lucky with wonderful weather, sitting out for breakfast and suppers! 'Sooty' made firm friends of us! Highly recommend three choirs for lunch tour and wine tasting.

Rural Retreat we wanted and Rural Retreat we got! Only songbirds and sheep to listed to (with the odd meow thrown in!).
Recommended places to visit: Bourton-on-the-Water, Broadway (a must) and for architecture, visit Cheltenham. The cottage is comfortable, warm and welcoming, we only hope you all 'chill' as much as we have.

Thank you so much for a fantastic weekend. The copper slipper bath was to die for, just perfect for candles, champagne, bubbles and the two of us. The location is ideal. We had a terrific time cooking our meals on the aga "delightful" and cosy evenings by the log burner. Newent is such a lovely place we might even relocate here. Tranquil, peaceful and just our cup of tea.

This beautiful cottage is exactly what it says on the tin - a lovely, relaxing 'rural retreat'. We really enjoyed escaping our busy London lives and unwinding almost instantly the moment we stepped foot into this place. After a long drive we really appreciated the food hamper on arrival. The golden bath was amazing, as was the wet room shower, the bed - we had no complaints! We enjoyed a long leisurely walk to the 'Three Choirs Vineyard' (the food is very nice and the wine was lovely!) and we also tried the gorgeous Road Maker Inn, as well as dinner at The Kilcot Inn.Over all our stay was relaxing, romantic and well worth the drive.
