The Coach House at The Lammas holiday home details

Minchinhampton is a picturesque Cotswolds village, surrounded by a common where cows graze during the summer months. The cows even wander into the village. There are superb views of the Stroud valley from the common itself, and lots of walks to country pubs and more.

The Coach House is a listed Cotswold stone building, part of a stables that has been fully refurbished, set in its own private and secluded grounds yet in the middle of the village. You arrive at the property via electric gates, which open up onto a covered, Cotswold stone cart shed. Walk through the archway and a stable door opens onto a fully fitted kitchen and dining room, with chairs for six, as well as a window seat – the perfect place to relax with a book or a glass of something.

With modern features such as a 55” wall-mounted Smart TV, under-floor heating in the ground floor rooms and a large walk-in shower, the property has everything you need to relax in style. There are lovely views across the private garden and to the valley beyond from the day room on the first floor. Outside the Coach House is a large dining table with benches, shared with The Stables next door, where you can enjoy al fresco dining. You’ll also be able to wander in your own area of the secluded and fully enclosed garden, and even book the hard surface tennis court during your stay.

Please note: there is a low beam in one bedroom which means most guests will have to duck to enter the bathroom.

The Coach House at The Lammas can also be booked with pet-free The Stables at The Lammas to sleep eight guests in total.

  • Minchinhampton Common is unique in the Cotswolds, a large piece of common land high above the Stroud valleys. People come to the common to enjoy the walks and the views, and there are even two golf courses here available for anyone to use. From simply stretching your legs to flying a kite, you’re bound to spend some time here during your stay.
  • The Regency spa town of Cheltenham is just a short drive from Minchinhampton. Stroll along the Montpellier area and window shop at the independent boutiques. If you’re here in the summer, you’ll find lots to entertain you at the Literature, Jazz, Science and Music Festivals. On the outskirts of town to the north is Cheltenham race course. A day at the races here is something special.
  • Speaking of horses, The Coach House also puts you within easy reach of the Gatcombe and the Badminton Horse Trials too. Both are a thrilling day out for horse lovers.
  • Just north of Cheltenham, the Prescott Speed Hill Climb is a unique event held every September, when classic car owners get the chance to put their foot to the floor. There are French and Italian themed weekends here in May and an American themed weekend in October.
  • From mighty oaks to delicate Japanese maples, Westonbirt Arboretum is home to some superb trees. One magical time to come is the autumn, when the leaves create an array of colours down the tree-lined avenues.
  • If you’re keen walkers, the Cotswold Way is a 102-mile long path through some of the most beautiful parts of the Cotswolds. It runs along the Cotswold escarpment, close to Minchinhampton.
