The Old Chapel holiday home details

The Old Chapel was built in 1864 and has been sympathetically converted to provide a comfortable and relaxing space whilst still maintaining its period features.

Set within the heart of the village of Shipton Oliffe, with accommodation spread over two floors. The property boasts a number of period features including exposed beams, central fireplace and stained-glass windows.
There is a sitting room and dining room which are linked by the central fireplace, the kitchen is fully equipped with built in appliances including dishwasher, fridge and freezer. There are three bedrooms, one if which is located on the ground floor.

Shipton Oliffe is a quiet village set within the Cotswold Countryside with its 11th century church, St Oswalds. The village of Andoversford is two miles away and has a village shop, primary school and public house.
The Spa town of Cheltenham is six miles away with an array of shops, restaurants, cinema complex, the Everyman Theatre and of course the famous Cheltenham Racecourse.

Attractions and nearby amenities

  • In close proximity you can go and explore the medieval village of Winchcombe which stands in the shadow of Sudeley Castle and has a choice of several good restaurants and excellent shopping including two supermarkets.
  • Discover the quintessential Cotswolds villages of Bibury (with its famous Arlington Row), Barnsley, Coln St Aldwyns and The Barringtons, which are host to some excellent local pubs and cafes.
  • Visit the bustling market town of Northleach with its village shop, wine bar, bakery and the very popular pub, The Wheatsheaf Inn. The church is considered one of the most popular in the Cotswolds and is a beautiful, historic building to visit.
  • Or why not travel down to explore the Roman Villa in Chedworth or the busier, Roman market town of Cirencester with its wealth of shops and restaurants. Also worth a visit is the Corinium Museum, Cirencester Abbey which is situated in the Market Square and Cirencester Park.
  • For local cuisine the Frogmill Inn is highly recommended and is within approx. half a mile of Shipton Oliffe village also the Kilkenny Inn on the outskirts of Andoversford is very popular.
  • For something different go and explore the Gordon Russell Design Museum in Broadway, celebrating the work of Sir Gordon Russell, the renowned 20th Century Furniture Designer.
  • For lovers of the outdoors, you are right in the heart of some of the most sensational walking in England, within hundreds of dedicated walkways through legendary Cotswold countryside.
  • For the sports enthusiast, travel to the wold famous Cheltenham racecourse or play a round at Naunton Golf Club. There is also a pay and play golf at Shipton Oliffe golf course next to the Frogmill Inn.
