Our fifth RR. Lighthouse, a perfect base to explore the island. A 20-minute walk to Reeth beach - but will need to scramble over rocks to get there. Crab Shed at Steephill Cover excellent for lunch. Reed on the front at Sandown - Brasserie style. Whitecliff Bay is idyllic, but a climb down. Salty's at Yarmouth - excellent sea food. For a real special ruthless treat - the 'Y' course taster menu at the Hambrugh (Ventnor) well worth the £85 a head, treat for a special occasion. Our 32nd Wedding Anniversary. LC, Stourbridge
1 April 2013
Despite weather of sunshine and showers, it was lovely to return to such a cosy cottage to watch the rabbits playing outside and the lighthouse lights at night. LF, London
1 April 2013
Another wonderful trip to St Catherine's for a great birthday celebration. I know my husband has to visit more regularly to look after the lighthouse, but it is still the most beautiful place. How can it be just a job? We have had a fantastic warm sunshine with the odd moving fog patches and quick showers but very random. The evening "full moon" has been spectacular. Last night saw it glowing red on the horizon, what a picture. I could just sit and gaze out of the dining room window forever, lazily watching the wildlife, walkers and ever changing sea whilst listening to the sky lark high above. Heavenly. SD, Essex
1 March 2013
We have had such a lovely time at this amazing lighthouse. Such beautiful surroundings. Due to the great weather we had, we spent many hours on the beach at Ventnor and Shanklin. Lovely meal at the Spyglass, Ventnor - partly as our little one (1.5 years) was asleep! We hope to return very soon.LF, Fielden
1 March 2013
Second stay in a Trinity House Lighthouse (we loved Nash Point as well). Great beer in the Biddle Inn - only a short walk up the hill. Frogmarched children to Ventnor along cliff tops - a great walk rewarded with Fish & Chips freshly made from Ventnor Haven (far end of the sea front). Brilliant spot, views, warm and cosy (very cold Easter mind). Enjoyed foxes, spotted a Black redstart - something for everyone. Happy days! LV, Bristol
1 December 2012
Lovely Christmas in this lighthouse cottage. Really warm and comfortable despite the blustery wet weather. Enjoyed visits to Osborne House (excellent guided tour), Garlic Farm, Red Lion at Freshwaster and the Puddle Inn pubs. Norris family grocery (Londis) Niton supplied all our needs Many wags from the dog. AL, Tadworth
1 November 2012
Our second Trinity Lighthouse cottage. Great walks from Freshwater Bay to Yarmouth. The crab and chips from Ventnor were really nice as was the fresh fish. The bakery at Cowes does wonderful bacon rolls. Lovely. CP, Dunstable

1 August 2012
Our fourth stay here, but this time we had the luxury of a week. So many highlights but a few were Steephill Cove and The Crab Pasty. Osborne House, the walk to St Catherine's Oratory, Hoy Monument and back via Niton. Best of all just sitting at the dining room window in the evening watching the ships and the full moon on the sea. Thank you for the hamper and such comfortable beds. A & M, Somerset

We especially loved our stay, the lighthouse tour was the highlight. We would love to come back again! PT, Slough
1 June 2012
This is a wonderful cottage in a stunning location - the best equipped holiday home we have ever rented. We feel very much at home here. Our favourite trips here to the Botanical Gardens in Ventnor (with a lovely lunch in their cafe), Osborne House (plus a delicious lunch in their restaurant) and just for fun, the chair lift at the Needles. But most of all we loved the calm, beauty and quality of light at St Catherine's itself, and the wonderful walks in the hills around it. It gets Dandy's vote too for being doggie heaven! SB, France
1 June 2012
Our second RR lighthouse and a stunning location! We've had a great time - the beach at Ventnor is perfect for one year old as well as parents who swim. Lovely walks around Niton and along the coast. Minghell's ice cream is by far the best! JC, London

A fab short break at this lovely lighthouse. Very comfortable accommodation, gorgeous location, a very welcome, welcome hamper and unbelievably hot sunny weather for this time of year. We have spent most of our time walking along the coastal path, but would also recommend The Old Battery and the Needles and carry on by foot along the coastal path to the Tennyson memorial, Mottistone Garden (and lovely tea garden!) and the Taverns Pub at Godsmill which has really good food and welcoming staff. JF, Bath
