4th year in this house - We will return!! Very high winds today but that makes the sea interesting. The children (7 year old twin boys) loved their holiday here, we all had a great time.

We loved staying at West Winnowing! The house is perfect, everything you could need and we loved exploring this end of the island. We ate twice in the Buddle Inn, what a gem, and one highlight was on a walk around the lighthouse was seeing a massive seal in the water! We later discovered he was a rare find - a grey seal called Ron (as in Ron Seal!!!) We'd love to come back, we had a brilliant holiday.

What a lovely cottage, we have had such a lovely time here, and hope to return sometime. We recommend the Taveners in Godshill it had a fantastic menu. Also the walks around the beautiful lighthouse. In fact this place has ticked all the boxes.

We've really enjoyed our 2nd visit to this lovely cottage and cant wait to return soon. Its location is perfect with both the beach and pub in easy walking distance! And superb views too. We will be back very soon! I really enjoyed going to the Buddle Inn and walking down to the beach, our dog, Barley enjoyed it to. I loved our visit to West Winnowing and I hope we will come again.

Our five night stay in West Winnowing was lovely. The seaview and location of this property are wonderful. you have access to the coast path a short distance from the property.
St Catherines lighthouse with its spectacular views are a short stroll from your door. There is a pub, The Buddle Inn, within a 200 yards.
Ventnor is about a 10 minute drive with excellent facilities and good restaurants. The property was spotless with a lovely welcome hamper providing breakfast for your first morning.
There wasn't anything we felt was missing in the property everything you needed to make your stay enjoyable was there, even a basket of logs by the log burner.
If I could find one criticism is that the pillows are not comfortable and could do with updating

What a fabulous location for a holiday home, we could not take our eyes off the view. Meals out at the Buddle Inn were very good and the walk along the cliff edge was exhilarating!

Third year at West Winnowing. As usual, lovely home away from home. Buddle Inn as welcoming as ever. Children enjoyed every minute. When we come back next year we really must visit some different things. With two 6 year olds they like familiarity but there is so much to see and do on this island

We’ve had the most wonderful week, great accommodation and the local pub was a useful stop off! I loved the library and read 2 books in the sun, looking at the wonderful view. Thank-you!

Well, we are coming to the end of a wonderful stay. A week’s perfect weather resulting in a happy, relaxed and reinvigorated family returning to the mainland. Enjoyed the house very much, particularly the view and the proximity to (a) the Buddle Inn; and (b) gentle walks down to nearby xx and coves. Worth the occasional scramble to find tranquillity and blue, blue sea.
Blackgang Chine a hit with the smaller family members (seems expensive at first but the ticket allows 5 days’ entry so value for money in our view) while large family members enjoyed hikes along the cliffs, Osborne House and the quiet pace of life here.
Finally, a recommendation – big fan of the Beach Shack. Nearby, perfectly located and an ideal spot to idle!
To future Winnowingers, have fun.

Thank you for a wonderful week in paradise. The weather was amazing and the walk to the beach with the tide out for 5pm swims, we could have been in the Caribbean!!! We will definitely be back.

The cottage is beautiful and very clean. The location is perfect – you can walk down to St Catherine’s Lighthouse in ten minutes and get a tour round the lighthouse. The Buddle Inn – 2 minute’s walk is excellent – we had 3 meals there. Osborne House is well worth visiting – there’s a lot to see there – it’s a day trip. Carisbrooke Castle is interesting but the winds were quite strong and so the ramparts were closed which was disappointing. We also visited the Needles – even the drive towards them is very scenic. WE stopped at Mottestone Gardens on the way – beautiful. There’s a lovely walk to Steephill Cove (only accessible by foot), where we had a lovely lunch at the Crab Shed. The Bistro is in Ventnor was also very good.

Thank you for a wonderful stay in a very cosy, well appointed home. It was a fantastic first holiday to the Island, and I hope it won’t be our last!
After such a cold winter, we were pretty lucky with the weather. Save a sunny day for a trip to the Needles – it’s well worth it. Recommend the Island (Needles) Breezer from Freshwater Bay to the Battery. Amazing views and the trip on the boat form Alum Bay for a close up of the Needles is short but worthwhile. Even Poppy, our black lab puppy, was well behaved on board! A lovely stroll back to Freshwater via clifftop & heath (3.5 miles) for the whole family. With two boys (11&14) Carisbrooke Castle & the Wight Karting in Ryde were hits and would recommend Hidden Gems fossil trips (check Trip Advisor). We were all eagerly hunting fool’s gold, dinosaur bones & crystals on Brook Chine beach like 7 year olds!! Lovely guides & very interesting tour at St Catherine’s Lighthouse – just down the road, don’t miss it.

Lovely house, mostly good weather, amazing views. We had an amazing week visiting Black Gang Chine and St Catherine’s Point and going on walks by the sea, would recommend it to anybody!!!
It was amazing for finding Easter eggs although the birds ate quite a lot of them!

I really enjoyed my bedroom and going to the sea. We also went to a video games place. There was a lovely view from the house! I loved my single bedroom which looked out onto the sea, and the garden was really pretty. The weather was so hot compared to Guildford! - R

My favourite part of our stay here is the beautiful view! When you wake up in the morning the sea is what you wake up to and the sound of the sea. The lounge is also cosy and warm (much warmer than our whole house!) - H

A really lovely house with everything you need. It's been sunny, snowing and really cold but meant we were given ring side seats for the coastguard rescue that took place one night outside the house! Wonderful walks and lots to see and do. Carisbroke and Osborne House well worth a visit. The food at the Buddle Inn is great too. The children already want to come back. Thank you. West Winnowing is a delightful cottage, finished beautifully and stylishly. We came to the Isle of Wight in Low season and were not sure what to expect. What a lovely surprise to be able to enjoy the rich and picturesque countryside, the quiet beauty of this part of the island and to discover a new and rewarding part of the country. We could not have asked for more from the cottage, the location, the experience as a whole: first class! GG, Southam, 24th November 2012
3 November 2012
Fabulous house. Wonderful sunny week. No end of bird and mammal action - red squirrels, greater spotted and green woodpeckers, kestrals, buzzards and unidentified white wader. Recommend the Wet fish shop on the front in Ventnor. The walk from Needles to Tennysons Monument for the views and The Buddle for a friendly pub. CJ, London, 3rd November 2012

Thank you so much for giving us a wonderful holiday in this lovely home. From the stunning views, through to the attention to detail and the interior of the house. We relaxed and enjoyed doing very little! The books and various games were all well used, by us all - a very thoughful and much appreciated touch. I'm afraid you haven't seen the last of us! It was quite a shock to discover this lovely house. We had chosen it to celebrate our daughter's birthday and it proved perfect. Beautiful surroundings, easy to find in the middle of the night. It proved to be our best dream: cosy, welcoming, immaculate, every possible furniture, and so many touching details. Thank you for your taste, your delicate attentions, the flowers and the wine.
