I'm not going into too much detail because I want this place to remain a little bit of a secret so I can selfishly have it all to myself!!! The tents are fab, location is stunning and I'm booking for next year line a shot!!! The site managers were really helpful, the booking staff in the office were great and the honesty box very useful to charge the laptop( we watched movies on it to entertain the kids in the pitch black at 6pm!!) lots of lovely family memories thank you lanterns and larks!!!

We were looking to do something a little bit different for a birthday celebration & this trip gave our family just this! We camped 23rd to 26th Oct & for Oct temperatures I'd say this was the right number of days. Our tent had been decorated for us & we asked for the stove to be pre-light for our arrival as we couldn't get away until the kids had finished school - I'm so pleased the site manager was kind enough to do this for us even though i was advised they don't normally do this as it made a HUGE difference to our arrival experience! Walking into a lit, warm tent was wonderful & it meant we could cook straight away.
The site managers were lovely, were on hand when needed & were so helpful. They do this job in addition to other jobs and they always stopped for a little chat when passing - I'm actually envious of them living where they do & doing what they do! Beats travelling into the city & spending 2 hours in traffic every day hands down!
Tent was amazing, has everything you need. We packed toilet roll, kitchen roll, candles, tea towels etc. didn't need any of it. One thing I would recommend is scented candles - might sound a bit daft but everything smells of burning wood so a nice sweet smell is a welcome experience! Also I'd recommend only take & wear what is absolutely necessary as everything needs washing once you return home whether you wore it or not as it smells of burning wood & fire which is fundamental to staying warm!
Beds were fab, quilts were warm & spotlessly clean & plenty of fleecy blankets were provided to stay warm - we were wrapped within an inch of our lives when we went to bed!
Toilet & shower very clean & my group all felt the same, being in the shower was very nice indeed when it was so cold outside.
Unlimited logs is an absolute must in Oct, cant stress this enough. It was cold & windy some days and keeping the fire going was a challenge so you need a lot of kindling to get it going. Many of the logs were huge so we needed to rake about for smaller logs.
Tents are spread out which gives privacy. We stayed in Snipe which had a cracking view & no-one in front of us - saw some great sunsets. Beautiful surroundings & country - no phone signal, no Wi-Fi, no electricity just complete darkness...
We had a day in Blackpool at the Pleasure Beach (recommend fast-track!) & we did the illuminations for the kids, if you've never experienced Blackpool before this is a fab way of doing this but its a long day and the tent is freezing when you return late at night so go very early & return relatively early evening.
Great experience, would definitely return & will be at some stage in the future in the summer time maybe next time.

Booked a last minute 2 night weekend break at Bleasdale Lantern & Larks site, glamping safari accommodation October 23rd 2015. The booking was quick and efficient and we were met by lovely friendly staff onsite as soon as we arrived. We were shown the 3 bed room tent and facilties including how to use the aga stove and log burner. The tent was very clean and had everything you needed, just bring extra matches and tea-lights for all the candles and fires you have to light. They do have a honesty store for any items you forget. Considering the weather and time of year we were lovely and warm. You just had a little noise as the wind wrapped around the tent one night, and even when the rain poured it was so water tight and cosy it was quite relaxing and peaceful listening to the sounds. Set on open farmland, you wake to pheasants and barn owls surrounding the site. It is just perfect for a relaxing fun weekend away with friends and a couple of dogs with us. You are a bit of it but about 4 miles to Chipping with 4 fabulous pubs in an ancient village setting, with a farm shop stocking everything from fresh meat, milk, fruit and veg and famous local real ales and wines.Close to Lancaster and the canal network and Barton Grange Garden Centre with its shops and canal setting its so handy. All just perfect and a fully enjoyable experience. We enjoyed it so much we have just booked again for May 2016.

We booked a lodge for my father's 70th birthday. Lantern and larks decorated it with birthday decorations for us, although we didn't ask them to, which was a lovely surprise. The lodge was even beater than it looked in the photos, and it was lovely and warm and cosy, again not what we expected for mid-October!
We cannot wait to return and have decided to book it for my husband's 30th birthday next year as we had such a positive experience.

We spent a week (Mon-Fri) in September, what a brilliant time. Such a peaceful week my partner and I didn't want to come home, we contemplated paying extra and staying the weekend too. Everything you need is on hand, the site is very remote and is a car drive to anything at all, but that's what we like. The Log burner keeps the tent more than heated, (a review on here say's otherwise), they clearly don't know how to keep a well stocked fire, If you're looking for a perfect week away, just the two of you, or the family, then this is place to go to relax and unwind. All in all a Excellent week and we shall see you again in the near future.

This is what family holidays are all about - simple, uncomplicated living in a stunning setting. The tents are spotlessly clean and stylishly decorated - in fact, it had more home comforts than my home!

The boys loved playing in the fields, splashing in the stream and inspecting local wildlife, while the grown ups enjoyed sipping wine by the fire pit overlooking a landscape of gently rolling hills and the dramatic Lancashire moors.

Nigh times spent tending the wood burner and candles inspire conversation and good old story telling.

The staff are friendly, knowledgeable and available.

This is a holiday to make a thousand treasured memories.

A group of friends go on an annual glamping trip - we try to encourage our children to dispense with electronic devices and go a little feral.

We usually use Featherdown - which as a rule is a solid experience.

But this is much better... Admittedly it doesn't have activities laid on - but to be honest we wanted the kids to use their own resources anyway. The site is not manned but that doesn't matter either.

The tents are vast and have added benefits of hot water and a shower. The ranges they employ are cleaner and more versatile than FD. They are truly luxurious...

Obviously they're quite new at this stage but I can't help but think they will strive to maintain high standards.

The Trough of Bowland is an AOB - so we don't need to add anything. Feels remote but isn't

Go.... You will enjoy

We stayed last weekend and were absolutely stunned at the facilities, the location, and how generally gorgeous it was.
We were in the tent next to the sheep and got such pleasure just watching them munch away.
The tent itself was of such high quality - better furniture than in most of our houses. Equipped with everything we could possibly need. Especially comfy beds.
The location itself feels remote without being too far away. We walked into Chipping and the locals were all really friendly, including the landlord that gave us a lift back in his pickup truck, much to the amusement of the local farmers.
Can't recommend this place enough for a few days getting away from it all without forgoing the comfort of beds and hot showers.
We are definitely looking to rebook for next year.

I've waited till I have the time to really sit and write a good review for the guys at Lantern and Larks.
My friends and I decided to spend the weekend away for my 30th birthday, as we have previously done for a few of theirs, glam camping in our beautiful English countryside. We have stayed previously at sites through different companies but I wanted to try somewhere new for my weekend away. From the start of our vacation - booking our cabin to being received at the site - all the staff were very friendly, polite and answered any and all questions that we had quickly and with no bother. Upon arriving at our temporary new home (Redshank, I think our name was), we immediately noticed all the birthday decorations the staff had so kindly put up. Special thank you to Emma in reservations.
Having stayed in a tent like this before we had some expectation of what the inside was going to be like, but we were genuinely surprised at how big it really was. Perfect for a group of 6. We had 3 bedrooms to sleep 2 in each, a lovely big kitchen, a large lounge/dining room and a lovely porch out front, over-looking not only our lovely little outdoor BBQ area, (I would recommend purchasing the fire pit for the weekend), but also the amazing view of the fields we had being the tent on the far side of the camp. We also had a toilet and shower attached to back of our tent which was new to us. I have to say that I did prefer the communal showers at other campsites we've stayed at for the temperate control alone, but having the toilet so close was a definite benefit.
