Estcourt House holiday home details

Estcourt House has been sympathetically and tastefully refurbished with great attention to detail, this elegant period property really doesn't disappoint. The interiors are a creative mix of contemporary and traditional furniture, soft furnishings and interesting artworks, which complement each other and the character of the house.

On the ground floor is a warm and homely well-equipped beamed kitchen, an adjoining sunny garden/breakfast room overlooking the courtyard garden, a dining room suitable for more formal 'occasion' dining, a sitting room with ample seating for a full house, and a smaller cosy snug/library with a fire and further television - ideal for a quiet read or to watch the channel of your choice. A cloakroom and utility complete the downstairs. On the first floor there are five beautifully appointed bedrooms, all with sumptuous beds and fine cotton bedding, two of which are en-suite. Outside the attractive south facing, fully enclosed and private courtyard garden has been imaginatively landscaped and has pretty night-time lighting enabling you to make the most of balmy nights.

Burnham Market is an all year-round destination, with fabulous places to eat, boutique and lifestyle shopping, and art galleries to browse. The beautiful North Norfolk coastline and its stunning beaches are within easy reach and walks along the North Norfolk coastal path are a feast for the eyes, senses and wellbeing.

Attractions and nearby amenities

  • Burnham Market is one of the seven 'Burnham's' and has a range of niche shops including a delicatessen, Tuscan farm shop, wine merchant, butcher, greengrocer, fishmonger, a chemist and various beautiful boutiques and lifestyle shops. There are also hard tennis courts and a fine parish church.
  • The village is centred around a green of mainly Georgian houses and there are some fabulous restaurants for you to enjoy during your stay. For intimate dining head to 20 North Street, for tapas and sharing plates, try Socius; or stroll down to Twenty9 where they cook your food over an open fire pit imported from New York no less!
  • The Hoste Arms offers plenty of charm and character and both informal or fine dining and you can choose to eat in their front or back restaurant or outside in their sunny terraced garden. The Hoste Beauty Spa, also in the village allows you to enjoy some well-deserved pampering during your stay.
  • Head to Burnham Thorpe to retrace Admiral Lord Nelson’s steps or Brancaster Staithe where Nelson first learned to sail.
  • Enjoy the beaches at Brancaster or Wells where you can enjoy sunbathing in the sandy dunes or pull on your walking boots and enjoy a coastal walk to Burnham Overy Staithe where you can watch the boats or catch a boat to secluded Scolt Head Island, one of North Norfolk's best kept secrets.
  • Don’t forget to visit Holkham, considered the best beach in the UK and where the closing scenes of Shakespeare In Love were filmed.
  • With numerous stately homes; including Houghton Hall; Felbrigg and Blickling and of course HM The Queen’s Sandringham residence to visit, you will adore the variety and natural feel this wonderful coast offers.
  • Immerse yourself in the birdlife at Titchwell, Snettisham or Cley-next-the-Sea reserves, or of course Pensthorpe where you can enjoy a wildlife safari.
