Peterstone Lodge holiday home details

Inspired by some of the best hotels, Peterstone Lodge is a city-chic, glamorous North Norfolk coastal retreat. The interiors are sophisticated and eclectic, with original artworks hanging on the walls and elegant furnishings in every room. Practical limestone flooring has been laid throughout, with two bespoke bathrooms, suites with thermostatic showers and a well-equipped Smallbone kitchen.

Both luxurious bedrooms have super king beds with extra comfy pocket sprung handmade mattresses and hypoallergenic bedding. The beds can be converted into twin beds if required.

The main rooms are flooded with light, with full-height sliding doors opening onto the patio and the south facing garden that looks out onto open farmland and far-reaching views. Take a seat and you might spot an owl flying low over the fields, deer wandering in the park and, in the winter months, fuchsia skies full of pink-footed geese.

Peterstone Lodge is set in a spectacular location, enjoying open views across Holkham’s ancient woodland. Situated midway between Burnham Market and Wells-next-the-Sea, the property is close to Holkham Beach, and it’s only a two-minute walk into glorious Holkham Park.

Attractions and nearby amenities

  • Peterstone is a small hamlet on the edge of Holkham village, where you’ll find a range of local independent shops and a photography gallery featuring shots of the atmospheric Norfolk coast.
  • Holkham Hall is just up the road, a magnificent example of 18th-century Palladian architecture, with a superb interior and beautiful parkland all around. If you fancy a spot of birdwatching, cycling or just stretching your legs, the grounds of Holkham Estate are open on Sundays, Mondays and Thursdays.
  • The golden sands of Holkham Bay stretch for miles. This is often referred to as the best beach in England and was voted best beach of the UK by The Sunday Times and Countryfile. The location was used for the final scenes of the film “Shakespeare in London.”
  • Just two miles to the west of Peterstone Lodge, you’ll find the thriving village of Burnham Market with its beautifully proportioned Georgian properties set around a village green. There’s also a varied selection of traditional shops, boutiques and places to eat.
  • Travel in the opposite direction, and you’ll come to the popular holiday resort of Wells-Next-The-Sea. A trip on the narrow gauge railway from the town takes you to the beach which backs onto acres of dense pine woods.
  • Beyond Holkham and Wells-Next-The-Sea, there’s the whole of the North Norfolk Coast to explore. Why not drive out to the charming coastal village of Blakeney and see if you can spot the seals basking on Blakeney Point, England’s largest seal colony?
