We had a marvellous time at Chapel House. Bampton is an excellent location from which to explore the Cotswolds and wider area. The house itself was beautifully decorated and the facilities were first rate. The only improvements we would recommend are: a pull down blind to be fitted on the glass of each bedroom door as there was 'light leakage' between the two bedrooms via the small landing. This led to people being disturbed when occupants of one room went to bed before occupants of the other bedroom!

Beautiful property, well equipped, thoughtfully and attractively furnished, sparkling clean, comfortable, a real pleasure to be staying in. The housekeeper was very helpful. The welcome pack was good though not as generous as some Rural Retreats properties at which we have stayed. It was a shame that company policy doesn’t allow literature to be left since we would have appreciated information on local walks etc - and perhaps more about the history of such a wonderful building. Not quite the full 5 stars because the televisions didn’t work properly- upstairs mainly OK but did break up. The downstairs didn’t really work at all. However, we very much enjoyed our stay in this very special property. Thank you.

Excellent location, well equipped, comfortable, spacious, clean and relaxing. Housekeeper Helen very helpful. Biggest drawback is no outside space apart from a tiny cramped corner in the alley next to the bins. From its condition it looks as though it doesn't get used. This was shown on the property description and was therefore not a surprise, but the weather was great and we couldn't really sit out comfortably for a G & T before dinner. The lady next door kindly supplied a table and we took chairs from the dining table and sat on the lane at the front of the house. It's also a pity that the bedroom and bathroom windows can't be opened for fresh air, which we understood was a planning stipulation. Other than that, a very enjoyable stay.

A really lovely house, very relaxing environment, and beautiful walks nearby. It was absolutely spotless on arrival. We found so many great pubs and dinner options. My only one criticism was the quality of the bedding which simply didn't do the house justice; the pillows were hard, thin foam and the duvet just didn't feel cosy or of the standard expected of a Rural Retreats rental. When I opened the front door I was blown away with the interior of the property which was absolutely stunning. The decor was chic and sympathetic to the original purpose of the building. The bed was extremely comfortable and the kitchen appropriately stocked. Clear instructions for appliances were useful. Chapel House was situated within easy reach of Cotswold villages like Burford, Bourton on the Water and Stow on the Wold. I would love to stay here again.
