The two popular pubs and village shop, just a few minutes’ walk from the cottage, all add to the appeal of this fantastic country retreat. Attractions and nearby amenities

  • Located in ‘England’s Favourite Village’ as voted by Country Life magazine 2006, Little Garth offers an idyllic retreat. The quintessential cottages with wonky gables and thatched roofs, large green, village shop and most importantly two popular pubs (The Plough and The Wild Rabbit) all add to the appeal of this beautifully unspoilt Cotswold village.
  • The popular Daylesford Organic Farm Shop is just a few miles away and a wonderful place to spend time. Why not treat yourself to a massage at the Bamford Haybarn Spa after hitting the shops, a relaxing way of spending some “me” time.
  • If you love the outdoors, just the other side of Moreton-in-Marsh Batsford Arboretum awaits: it is perfect for an autumn stroll when the canopy is ablaze with ripening hues and the garden terrace café provides the perfect excuse for refuelling. As well as plants for the garden, you can also indulge in a spot of retail therapy at the shabby chic Applestore or admire the wood turners and glass artist’s work.
  • For families with little ones, a visit to Adam Henson’s Cotswold Farm Park is a popular choice for a day out: children love getting hands on with the baby chicks and rabbits, meeting the piglets, bottle feeding the lambs and goat kids, meeting the farmyard animals, and enjoying a tractor safari around the farm. There is a lot to do for all ages (young and old!), and at the end of the day, you will realise there has been some subtle learning going on too.
  • For those of you interested in the country’s heritage, the Cotswold attractions of Sudeley Castle and its Queens Gardens where four of England’s queens once walked upon the original Tudor Parterre.
  • Blenheim Palace, the birthplace of Sir Winston Churchill, is also a popular historical venue with wonderful paintings and the largest pipe organ in private ownership is house at the northern end of the library. Wander around the gardens and park; The Royal Shakespeare Company in picturesque Stratford-upon-Avon; the picturesque Slaughters; several National Trust properties.
  • Bourton-on-the-Water is where you will find Birdland, the Model Railway and the Cotswold Motor Museum.
