If you're looking for quality time away with the children this is the place. The tent is impressive, the beds are super luxurious and it has everything you need to make your stay comfortable and exciting. The children loved collecting logs for the fire and playing games in the evening with no distracted mummy and daddy. Lanterns for the evening could be charged through-out the day and I even managed to straighten my hair in the honesty shop to allow me to visit the 'in laws' semi presentable. Unfortunately we didn't get the time to try any of the local cycle route so that is a must when we return. The honesty shop has lost of info about the local area and Laura was a great host. I would recommend taking some paper to assist with lighting the burner and also a few extra lanterns at night. We had a great time and will definitely return in the future.

My husband and I (along with our best friends) have just returned from our first ever Glamping experience. We stayed at the Lantern & Larks site in Suffolk, and I simply couldn't recommend it more!
I had arranged the 3 night stay as a surprise for my husbands birthday and on arrival we were shown our private and secluded 'Kestral' tent by the very welcoming and lovely site manager Laura who had decorated the tent with balloons and banners!
The fire had been lit ready for our arrival so we instantly felt at home.
The tent was extremely well equipped with all the necessary kitchen utensils. As well as the wood burning stove in which you could cook on top of or in the oven compartment, there was also 2 gas rings to use making cooking each meal a lot easier. The whole tent was furnished to a very high standard, the beds were huge and ridiculously warm and comfortable. There was a private flushing toilet as well as a (hot!) shower room.
As there is no electricity a large cool box is provided to keep things cold (we couldn't believe how well this worked - although I was pleased to have brought freezer blocks from home) as well as 2 electric lanterns, however, I would recommend bring copious amounts of candles and perhaps extra lanterns as we did.
The honesty shop on site is well equipped with battery packs for the lanterns and freezer packs for the fridge. You can buy all the essentials as well as fresh eggs during the right season. There was a lot of information on the local area available, Laura was also very helpful in pointing out the direction of the nearest towns... as well as the nearest pub!
This was one of the most relaxing and fun long weekends away, the perfect place to go with very good friends. I cant speak highly enough of the service received as soon as I booked with Lantern & Larks and the friendly welcome received once we arrived at Sweffling Hall farm. Loved it!!

Laura was an incredible host. The facilities were great. We also loved that extra were thought of, with charging stations for lanterns, extra freezing bottles for keeping things cold, and ready made meals for purchase in the deep freeze. We also enjoyed picking up our fresh eggs from the farm's own chickens. There was a pub within walking distance and a few small towns with 10 minute drive to grab a bite or some groceries. I would highly recommend it.

Fantastic Holiday! The tents were spotless, well equipped and very comfortable. The children had a great time, its on great cycle routes, and near to good family days out. The eggs available are lovely, and there's even some gluten free meat options in the freezer of the honesty shop. We'll definitely be back!

We stayed here last week from Monday to Friday it was out of this world from start to finished the kids had a ball playing out in the dark with the other kids with the lanterns
Laura was a great host and the tent was clean and large we had everything we needed and I wouldn't have changed a thing looking forward to returning again as every day the kids asked if we could come again next year thanks for a great holiday

We have just returned from a glamping trip with my Mum and two children and have had a magical holiday. The children loved playing outdoors and having the freedom to explore the woods and fields near the accommodation and we all sat around the fire pit telling stories in the evening. The accommodation is stunning and v comfortable. There are 2 gas rings to cook on along with a log burning stove which kept the tent really warm if you got it going in the evening and put some logs on before bed. We normally go camping and to be fair this is nothing like camping. This is basically staying in a beautiful canvas home with the only element of roughing it being the absence of electricity. There is hot and cold running water, comfy sofas, rugs, a dining table and lots of lovely lanterns to light at night. Bring plenty of tea lights- you'll get through them!! All in all a great holiday in a beautiful setting. We'll be back!

We visited in August 2015 - four of us with kids aged 7 and 2. We had been glamping before and loved it but Lanterns and Larks really takes it to the next level. The tents are huge and really well equipped. We could have literally arrived with clothes and not needed to take anything else. The site has a really friendly feel and the kids formed gangs for adventures in the woods within minutes of arriving. Proximity to get to the beaches of Southwold, Walberswick, & Aldeburgh is so easy and Saxmundham with both Tesco and Waitrose is ideal for re-stocking the larder. Laura, the owner is both passionate and proud of her business and nothing was too much trouble - we will return, I can't recommend it more.

We recently glamped at Sweffling Hall - our first experience of glamping - and it certainly didn't disappoint. Beautiful secluded venue, first class tents with all the added luxuries you could wish for, and lots of space for the kids and dog to explore in. We loved sitting round the fire toasting marshmallows - enjoying the peaceful surroundings. Great beaches, castles and villages within a short car ride away and lots of dog friendly options. Manager, Laura, was extremely helpful and welcoming. We will definitely be visiting again and would highly recommend this to anyone wanting a relaxing family friendly holiday!

This was our first experience of Glamping. We were not disappointed. The "tent" itself was like something out of Harry Potter - very spacious and comfortable inside, and terrific comfort with beds, soft mattresses, soft duvets, sofas and chairs. It was well equipped in the kitchen in terms of utensils etc, and there is a log burner oven and hob, as well as a two ring gas hob. The oven was straightforward, but it's more difficult judging the heat of the log burner hob, so we reserved this for boiling water, potatoes etc.
The bedrooms are spacious with lots of storage space, and lovely soft beds. There is a small shower room with hot water - sometimes slightly erratic, and a proper flushing loo.
A big dining table and chairs made family mealtimes very comfortable.
Outside you have a verandah, with sofa and chairs as well as deckchairs, and a pub style bench also.
I'd advise getting a firepit, with unlimited logs. The firepit was the centre of all attention from dusk, and we used it to barbecue as well.
The site itself was very good. There were a total of six tents in an area of a couple of acres, so despite having neighbours you weren't really aware of them, and it felt very secluded.
The Sweffling site is in a lovely location on a working farm, and the proprietor, Laura, was lovely and welcoming, and helpful in terms of places to visit etc.
Do note that there is no electric supply, so when it gets dark, it is candles and lanterns. It's incredibly peaceful, and although there was 3G availability, my kids put away their phones and iPads and quickly adapted.
Pack some board games - a pack of cards was the surprise huge hit with my children this holiday.
Although remote you are ten minutes drive from Waitrose at Saxmundham, and a big Co-Op at Framlingham. There are beaches aplenty, and sites of interest nearby.
This is probably one of the simplest holidays I've organised for me and my children for several years, but it was also the most relaxing, and enjoyable. At night, there is a quiet time from 9pm. Sitting out on the verandah, listening to the combines out in the fields, or rain on the roof, was incredibly relaxing. Mixed with a warm, roaring fire, and pitch darkness (you can see every star in the sky) and a glass of something warming (Single Malt in my case) I felt incredibly happy and recharged.
I highly recommend this place, and we will almost certainly visit again.

Spent four nights here earlier this week and what a chillout it was. We were very lucky with the weather as we only had a few lite showers and these were mainly in the night.

Great 'glamping' accommodation in a great rural location. Loads of nice villages, towns and beaches all within easy driving distance.

The nights sitting around the fire pit cooking the food and then marshmallows were great for the soul and are now missed now we're home!

The only things I would suggest you are best taking with you are:

- Electric cooling facility for food or a very good cooler box.
- Fly spray

This is our first attempt in any way shape or form at camping as a family but we certainly will be doing the glamping thing again! :)

This is without a doubt one of the best family holidays we have experienced. The tents are immaculate and very warm, with everything you need to see you through a week camping - but without the hassle of cramming everything in the car and with the luxury of a toilet and shower at the back of the tent. Manager Laura was a lovely person and very helpful. The site is beautiful and secure, and suited 2 children, a teenager, a dog and a Grandad perfectly, leaving 2 parents to relax and enjoy a lovely week.
