The cottage is very well equipped, including OS maps and suggestions for walks and was very clean. Excellent welcome hamper.
We particularly enjoyed the cheeses, scones and clotted cream. Laura and her partner Euan were very responsive.
As you will know from our booking record we have stayed in RR cottages on over 30 occasions. This is definitely one of the best.

We have spent quite a few breaks in Rural Retreats properties but this one was extremely well equipped and with a lovely well-kept garden which we would love to enjoy in summer. However we enjoyed a peaceful Christmas with the beautifully decorated tree and other decorations.
The village is nice and the well-stocked shop a special treat. The position of the cottage is ideal for excursions to various historic towns.
Weather-wise, we had the four seasons: sunny, very windy, lots of rain and even snow!
We will certainly recommend this cottage for anyone wishing for holidays in England! Happy New Year and all the best.

A beautiful cottage in a lovely village with lots to see and do in the local area. One of the best hampers and toiletries we have ever had in a Rural Retreats cottage.
We will certainly be back again one day.

All 3 generations enjoyed a fantastic week.
The weather was kind to us but what struck us all the most was how welcoming the cottage was. Everything was needed here on arrival.
The 10 Sherston walks made good runs for us and it was great not having to travel far afield. Lots of lovely days out to be had from the cottage and we very much hope to be back soon. ( A few ideas for my garden too!)
Laura, thanks for a lovely stay in a superb cottage. Everything was perfect and really appreciated.

A super cottage in which to meet up with the family as part of my 60th birthday celebrations!
Welcome goodies much appreciated, particularly the cake!
Weather could have been better - a very wet visit to Highgrove, but beautiful none the less. Everyone enjoyed the otters and vast array of birds at Slimbridge.
A walk from the cottage took us to Westonbirt Arboretum for the day - beautiful trees, stunning azaleas & rhododendrons. A couple of lovely meals at The Rattlebone and some lovely produce from Tucks Farm Shop. Many thanks

We had a wonderful stay exploring this (wide) area from as far south as Stonehenge to Chipping Campden in the North!
One highlight was Walk 4 through Sherston - the guide is excellent and the countryside beautiful. The Rattlebone served up a couple of good meals!

We have enjoyed a beautiful few days stay in this lovely house, exploring the local sites.
Relaxing with our books in the very comfy living room and eating some excellent meals at The Rattlebone Inn.
One of our favourite things was the Abbey Gardens in Malmesbury where the children enjoyed meeting Brutus the tortoise. Sophie enjoyed sleeping in a four-poster bed though she also spent a lot of time curled up on the heated floor.
We thought Westonbirt Arboretum was great and the children were very excited to see the tomb of King Athelstan in Malmesbury Abbey. We enjoyed having lots of beautiful countryside to walk in.
Thank you for having us to stay here. It was a great opportunity to us to get together for a family Easter.

We've had a great time in this ideal cottage – and been richly blessed, both by the accommodation and provisions but also some fabulous weather – wall to wall sunshine each day. Several walks in various directions, including Westonbirt through the arboretum yesterday. Visits to Lacock and Slimbridge and a brief excursion to Malmesbury. All in all a thoroughly relaxing and fulfilling vist. And of course The Rattlebone pub provided food and refreshment as well.
Thanks for your loving care and thoughtfulness.

To a fellow Laura – a big thank you for your lovely house which has kept us so very cosy and comfortable during a cold Mother's day weekend! (Thankfully no snow here – and we missed the 4 inches that was falling at home in Cheshire)
Shopping in Tetbury was tempting (+expensive!) Lacock is as lovely as ever. Dinner and drinks in our “local” The Rattlebone was good.

Boohoo! We're going home tomorrow…

We've loved it here… all the home comforts, so well laid out/ designed and what a tremendous village! We've done the Malmesbury River Walk… lovely (even in my Italian designer shoes – NOT recommended!) The 6 ½ mile Easton Grey round walk… yes, we got lost but we were in the middle of Storm Frank, so a well earned delicious meal at The Rattlebone was just what the doctor ordered….. highly recommended.
BUT. The most amazing thing. 15 years we've been meeting at our house on Boxing Day and always have a huge list of breakages, tears and tantrums and this year at Little Maunditts… not a single breakage, tear or tantrum… for this alone it has been superb! Thank you Laura.

Thank you for hosting my family and myself in your lovely, warm, cosy and welcoming cottage. We have indeed had a fantastic time here and wished that we had more days to spend to bask in the comfort of your cottage.
Appreciate very much for preparing the nibbles and breakfast items for us. It was really very welcoming for us after travelling in the cold.
Certainly a place we would all like to be able to visit again and also recommend to our friends heading out this way.
Wishing you and your family a blessed Christmas and a bountiful new year.

Fabulous cottage with absolutely everything one could wish for. Thank you so much for the lovely goodies.
We came here with our son and two grandchildren and we all had a marvellous time beginning on Friday evening with a good meal at The Rattlebone. Saturday morning we went to Tetbury with coffee and very tasty shortbread biscuits at The Close Hotel, home for lunch, afternoon a stroll around Sherston then early evening to Westonbirt for a very enchanted Christmas. Sunday was to Lacock with a late lunch at The Angel in Lacock village. A truly lovely weekend with the knowledge that we had an extremely comfortable cottage to return to. The Christmas tree and decorations are the icing on a very tasty cake.

Thank you, what a beautiful, well equipped house/home. I think one of the best places we have stayed in (and we have travelled around the world)
Comfortable, cosy and well situated. Lovely walks. Bedrooms equally comfortable, lovely toiletries in all en-suite bathrooms.
Rattlebone Inn is a must for lunch as well as a good Sunday Roast.
All positive!

What a delightful home! Thanks for allowing us to stay here for the week.
Although the weather has been quite rainy and blustery we have found plenty of things to do – from the arboretum to Lacock, Bath, Cirencester and more.
The cottage has been so well appointed, we have wanted for nothing.
Thanks again!

We have had a great five days at Little Maunditts.
The house is so comfortable, clean, warm and well equipped and we felt very much at home as soon as we arrived.
We enjoyed some nice days out at Birdland (Bourton on Water), Westonbirt Arboretum, Malmesbury and Bath. An interesting visit to the airfield at Kemble was a bonus for the children and we enjoyed watching the planes take off while we had coffee in the AV8 cafe.
The Rattlebone was really nice for a meal on Fish & Chips night and the village store was brilliant with friendly and helpful staff.
Thanks for a great break.

What a wonderful cottage to spend a week in! We even managed some afternoons in the garden.
Westonbirt Arboretum is fantastic and you can easily lose a day there – the leaves are starting to turn and I imagine in a month or so it will be stunning.
Had an afternoon (rainy) in Calcot Spa too – perfect!
The Rattlebone for dinner was lovely. Tetbury - Cafe 53 was good and we were lucky enough to be there for the food festival too!!
Lovely cottage, lovely village, great holiday. Thank you.

We have had a wonderful escape in your beautiful cottage!!
So lucky with the weather, your garden is a beautiful haven.
Highgrove was a real treat, the best champagne afternoon tea, with perfect crust-less cucumber and egg sandwiches, and the lightest home-made scones and clotted cream.
Not enough time to see so much around here, we will be back! Thank you.

Laura – you have done a great job to make Little Maunditts a comfy ‘ home from home’. Everything we could have wanted was here! The basket of ‘goodies’ was a real treat and the cake went down very well too! The last slice was eaten at breakfast this morning!
Had good weather for the most part – played Pitch & Putt at Tiddlywink – hilarious! Went to Tetbury, Castle Combe, and lunch at the gorgeous Whatley Manor.
The younger members of our group had jogging outings and discovered Tanners Hill* amongst other places!
Thank you for a wonderful few days – Sherston is a pretty village. We will recommend you to others.

Your beautiful cottage has been a delight. We are so glad we chose it for four days and nights. The décor is cheery. The rooms are so nice.
To sit and relax or just counting mice. And the weather is perfect. The days good to roam. Through the village or fields or drive far from home and the evenings to sit in the shade with an ale.
Telling stories of travel or touristy tales and who could forget those elaborate dinners. For anyone cooking, the kitchen’s a winner. So we’ll recommend it to all of our friends And say bye with regret ‘cause our stay had to end!

I just wanted to put in writing how truly thankful and grateful we are for the most wonderful stay in your beautiful home, Little Maunditts Cottage. My family and I were blown away with the delightful idyllic retreat in the heart of the Cotswolds.

The rooms were comfortable and we felt right at home. Also a huge thank you for the very generous treats and bottle of wine – very thoughtful of you! This is a place we would love to come back to when next in the UK! I certainly won brownie points with my in-laws for booking this place and they
are already raving to their friends about ‘the most perfect cottage holiday!’

Thank you for all your travel advice and tips on the area and for kindly setting up the baby cot and high chair for our son.

A wonderful, relaxing week in this cottage. The weather wasn’t that kind but it didn’t stop us visiting the local area. Lacock abbey and village are highly recommended as is Westonbirt Arboretum.
The village shop is fantastic – a great selection of food and drink.
We went to the Carpenters Arms one evening – very quiet but good, basic pub food and welcoming landlord. Also had lunch at The angel which is very nice and they do take –out coffee.

Wow! What a find! My wife and I have stayed ina number of rural retreat cottages (usually 2 – 4 berth) but wanted something bigger this time round to celebrate my birthday with my wife, two daughters and their other halves. The cottage is fantastic!! Homely, spacious and really tastefully decorated and furnished with everything that one could want. We all thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.

We have been delighted with the cottage and our stay. You thought of everything. We loved the food hamper and similar little touches that made our trip enjoyable and luxurious. This was our first family trip with my daughter (nearly 1 year old) and it didn’t disappoint, we look forward to returning with a full house.
We especially enjoyed dining out during warm evenings with a glass of vino in the charming garden.
For other visitors: Lacock village has a lovely abbey and for a special lunch “The Sign Of The Angel” pub. Tetbury – chocolate box village and lovely shops. Abbey Gardens in Malmesbury, amazing variety and colours of flowers. We spent 3 hours chilling out there, playing giant chess and eating ice-cream.

Thank you so much for a wonderful stay at the cottage. You’re a fantastic host – we really enjoyed the welcome pack and the personal touches around the house which added to an already homely feel. The wooden mice inspired us to hunt down our own replicas in Bath so we are going home with a legion of good luck mice and fond memories of Little Maunditts Cottage.
For those staying in the future we’d recommend the Rattlebone Inn for food down the road. Castle combe is beautiful for a day out and some afternoon tea. The people in Sherston village are lovely and friendly – the post office is a one-stop shop for anything you need that Laura hasn’t already kindly provided.
The perfect country getaway – we’ll definitely be back and will be telling our friends too!

Thank you so much for allowing us to stay at your cottage. She is perfect. Our mum (aged 87) wants very much to pick up your garden and take it back to Nottinghamshire! The home-made marmalade tastes lovely and is only one thing from an array of homely touches. The welcome pack came in most useful. We enjoyed hearing the church clock and the wood pigeons – a welcome change from traffic noise! I love the dancing hares and the sheep pictures.
Great food at The Rattlebone – book early, that’s our tip.
Not goodbye but au revoir till we return again.

This house was a lovely conclusion to our vacation! We loved this house. Thank you for opening up your doors to us. We were particularly grateful for all the treats after quite a long drive.
Among the wonderful things we visited, Stonehenge was a favourite. We also enjoyed visiting Blenheim Palace in Woodstock, Bletchley Park near Milton Keynes and the Roman baths in Bath. Finally we loved shopping at the antique shops in Tetbury.
Dinners at both local pubs, The Rattlebone Inn and the Carpenters arms, were fantastic and we also enjoyed breakfast at The Angel.
