Love this cottage - so nicely furnished and decorated. Well equipped too. A beautiful area but unfortunately the weather was not good. However, enjoyed our week.

Have greatly enjoyed our few days here again. Now in our eighties, trust we'll still make it next year as well! Hope everything will go well for you Peter - it has been good to see you once more.

The cottage had everything we needed and was fabulously warm! Thank you for letting us bring our pugs! We loved the countryside with its beautiful walks - so much better than the Cotswolds where it is almost impossible to walk with dogs and children in the countryside. The guide with recommendations was excellent! Many thanks.

For us this is a return visit to Stable Cottage. Once again we found the cottage to be most comfortable and inviting. It always feels like arriving at your home away from home. This is a feat not achieved by most vacation lets. There is lots to do and see when you are out and about and a "welcome home" when you return. Loved shopping in Marlborough. It's just the right size and has everything that anyone could need. We enjoyed checking out Peter's pub recommendations and found them to be spot on. We are truly sorry to leave and look forward to our next visit.

There was absolutely nothing wrong with Stable cottage, we had a lovely time and in fact we're hoping to return later in the year, possibly with our horses as there's a livery yard just opposite!
We all enjoyed the comfort and peace of Stable cottage, Ben enjoyed his walks and so did we and just wish we could have stayed longer. EM, St Albans

We had the most wonderful, peaceful and relaxing stay here at Stable Cottage over Christmas. Visited Marlborough, Devizes and Salisbury. Thank you for making us so welcome and checking that everything was ok during our stay and in particular for such a well stocked welcome pack. A beautiful cottage in a beautiful location - thank you. A warm welcome call was a good start to the few days we have spent here and thoroughly enjoyed. Waking up to the sound of the cockerel crowing and the sheep bleating took me back to my childhood of growing up on a farm. Walks from the front door and plenty of places of interest nearby, What a pretty village to live in. What more could we want? We would also recommend The Swan at Wilton - good food and welcoming staff. LV, West Sussex

What a lovely, comfortable and welcoming place to stay! Thank you for the lovely welcome hamper and for ensuring that we were ok during our stay, much appreciated. Would recommend the Swan Inn at Wilton for an evening meal (Tuesday night is steak night) and for some serious shopping try McArthur Glen Retail Outlet just outside Swindon. Otherwise just enjoy the peaceful villages, cream teas and spectacular views. JB, East Sussex

A most enjoyable stay in a lovely comfortable well equipped cottage. Great food at the Royal Oak oub and Wootton Rivers. Great views from Martinsell Hill. Lovely field walks. Would recommend the Medieval Town Trail in Devises, and the White Horse and Old Fort up on the Ridgeway trail near Swindon. Thanks for all the little extras, very thoughtful. S & D, Australia

A Welsh word to describe our visit to Wiltshire is "Bendigedig!" Translated it means Fantastic!! We have enjoyed a number of the suggested walks taking in the beautiful, tranquil countryside. Of course, the good weather was an added bonuses. We can't thank the Owner enough for arranging to have a ramp made by a local carpenter when we mentioned that my 96 year old mother had difficulty entering Stable Cottage. Much appreciate. Had a relaxing holiday in this lovely, peaceful cottage - very well equipped -Days out to Stourhead (NT) and Longleat - both an hour drive, which were very enjoyable. Marlborough is well worth a visit. The Red Lion, East Chisenbury is good for a special meal. Didn't know there were so many "white horses", we've seen 4 so far!!

It looks like we were the first visitors from the States. We've been renting houses from Rural Retreats for 30 years and Stable Cottage has certainly made it into our "Top Ten". We loved the house, great location and loved how easy it was to get there. We've been to Stonehenge many times but this trip we visited Wood Henge and found we were able to walk the whole site without restrictions.Whole experience very enjoyable, we would return in a heartbeat.

We have had the most wonderfully peaceful and restful few days in this idyllic spot. Just what we needed! Stable Cottage is delightful with lovely colours and decoration and all our needs catered for. Thank you Peter for looking after us so well and making us so welcome. We enjoyed a meal in the Deli in Pewsey on our first evening and next day lunch in the National Trust café at Avebury - a very interesting place to visit. We also very much enjoyed Marlborough and an excellent meal at The Silks on the Downs. So sorry we have to leave so soon, but we hope to be back.
