- Within 8 miles are the market towns of Leyburn, Bedale, Richmond and Masham - all with local produce shops, cafes and high class restaurants.
- There are castles at Richmond, Bolton and Middleham, historic sites at Jervaulx and Fountains Abbey, many beautiful country houses with extensive gardens and an arboretum at Thorpe Perrow.
- Discover the Forbidden Corner, sample 'Black Sheep' and Theakstons real ales at source, taste creamy Brymore ice cream on the farm or see Wensleydale cheese made at Hawes.
- The geography of the area provides us with dramatic waterfalls at Aysgarth, walking opportunities both gentle or more challenging (climb Penhill) and the range of beautiful dales - Wensleydale, Swaledale and Coverdale amongst others. Perhaps take an hour's ride to York, the spa town of Harrogate or the coast at Whitby and the North Yorkshire Moors.
