Villa Das Oliveiras holiday home details

Villa Das Oliveiras brings you the best of both worlds – secluded relaxation in warm Portuguese sun, yet with all the amenities you need, thanks to the facilities on-site at the Rocha Brava resort. The villa is set within the 55 acres of Rocha Brava’s beautiful grounds, and you’ll enjoy the privacy of your own private garden, with a generous pool just a few yards from the terrace.

It’s easy to spend a day just lounging by the pool, enjoying lunch cooked on the barbecue and then coming indoors to keep cool in the light and airy living area. But you might want to get out and about too. There’s plenty to keep you entertained at Rocha Brava, with communal swimming pools, tennis courts, a gym and a beauty centre all close by. You can also ask at the resort reception to organise anything from babysitting to boat hire. In the summer months the resort hosts a children’s club, so if the little ones still have some energy to burn off after splashing about in your private pool, it’s the perfect way to keep them entertained.

Come the evening, why not stroll down to the ‘O Farol’ restaurant on site for an a la carte menu with Portuguese specialties? There’s a children’s menu available, so it’s perfect for all the family. Or you can wander away from the resort to take your pick of the bars and restaurants that are all within walking distance. Come back to the villa and you’ll be able to enjoy beautiful views of the setting sun from the roof terrace. A gated stairway takes you up onto the roof, where you can enjoy one final glass of wine and gaze out over Rocha Brava and beyond.

Also available to book at this location is Villa Oleander (sleeping 8 guests).

Attractions and nearby amenities

  • The resort of Rocha Brava has lots of facilities on site, including three communal swimming pools, four tennis courts, a gym and a beauty centre. You’ll also find a Coffee Shop & Bar at the entrance, as well as the ‘O Farol’ restaurant, which serves a buffet-style breakfast and a la carte menu.
  • The picturesque beach at Centianes is less than 1km away, while the spectacular Smuggler’s beach at Carvalho is just 1.5km away – you have to walk along a series of tunnels through the rock face to get there.
  • The bustling village of Carvoiero is a popular tourist destination. This former fishing village has an excellent selection of restaurants and bars, and with the fishermen’s cottages perched on top of the majestic cliff, it’s still just possible to get a sense of the authentic Portuguese lifestyle.
  • If you’d like to get away from the hustle and bustle, Ferragudo is a small and secluded town with pretty harbour and cobbled streets. There’s nothing better than simply wandering along the streets in the morning, comparing menus in the seafood restaurants to pick the perfect spot for lunch.
  • Most people come to the Algarve to enjoy relaxing on the golden sands, but if you start to get itchy feet then the Percurso dos Sete Vales Suspenos is a fairly easy hiking trail that rewards you with some stunning views of the dramatic limestone cliffs.
  • If you’d like to play golf on one of the famous courses of the Algarve, there are plenty to choose from nearby. During the summer months, it’s best to play either early in the morning or after 4.30pm.
