Good to very good in parts, not excellent. Beautiful setting with an amazing view from the terrace. Excellent welcome pack. Great open kitchen / dining / living space for larger groups. Summer duvet too small for zip and link main bed, bathroom in this room also pokey with cramped over bath shower. Linens not as “crisp and white” as described, and some furnishings now starting to be a little faded. Appreciate it is hard to keep these properties maintained, but Cazenovia needs a few upgrades to bring it back to it’s 5 star potential.

What a stunning property. Furnished and equipped to the highest standard and a beautifully renovated building all set in idyllic location. It was a pleasure just being in the property, so cosy and warm with the log burning stove which we made full use of. Meals around the huge table (that converted to a billiard table) were a joy, followed by a good night's sleep in comfortable beds. The weather was not wonderful - what you would expect at this time of year, but nevertheless we had some enjoyable trips to Windermere, Bowness and generally exploring. The time of year meant that everywhere was much quieter and so our excursion over Hardknot and Wrynose Pass was far more pleasurable than it would be during the height of the summer - no having to stop on hairpin bends to let other vehicles pass! Cazenovia Hall is easily one of the best Rural Retreats properties we have stayed in and I cannot recommend it highly enough.

We had grand plans for our stay at Cazenovia Hall - sadly due to pneumonia striking, all plans went out the window :( What we can say is the hall and surrounding area is just typical of the Lakes - stunning! Catering for everything you could possibly want, including dog towels, washing machine / dryer, fully loaded kitchen and a lovely hamper to welcome you (tea, coffee, bread, biscuits, milk, orange, eggs etc etc). Everything was perfect and as requested, a cot & high chair were provided. Location is just a short drive away from both Keswick and Penrith with plenty to explore inbetween. In the halls, therefore are countless folders, leaflets, books, guides - all aimed at helping you make the most of your stay. The endless supply of logs and kindling was a welcome sight especially as we stayed during the January snow. Jilly was always available for contact and answered all our questions and concerns very promptly. We will definitely be recommending it to friends and family as a little Cambrian luxury, and hope to visit again and pray we don't need endless trips to Penrith Hospital!
