We have always loved coming here and have been doing so for over 15 years the place is immaculate and you can see the property is well looked after with new carpets throughout and new flooring in the dining room. The only slight negative is the settees are very low and uncomfortable and one of the big chairs have been removed and replaced with a dining chair but this won’t stop us returning again and again

This is our favourite property and location. Its always spotlessly clean, well equipped and a joy to stay at, and have been staying here for years. The only disapointment is the welcome hamper and I guess if it was a first stay you would be none the wiser but because we have been many times before I was quite shocked at how little there was in the hamper now, such a shame as that was a real treat. The only other negative is that you now have set change over days so we cannot now stay for the amount of days we normally do, I hope that will revert back.

The lighthouse cottage was a wonderful experience. The location, of course, is to die for. It is calm and tranquil with stunning views and wonderful walks. It is a short drive to Swanage - or a slightly longer but very do-able walk along the south coast path - which is just a lovely old English seaside town. The cottage is in splendid condition and well-equipped. Our week there passed by too quickly. I would hope to return.

Great location and property was lovely, clean and modern and maintained to a high standard. It is quite remote but we love walking so most days walked between 6 and 8 miles as there are plenty of great walks. Highly recommend the Lodge at Lulworth Cove for lunch and the SeventhWave at Durlston castle - a fabulous breakfast! The welcome pack was very disappointing , I had high expectation's from Rural retreats, 4 packs of biscuits ( 8 between 5 people did not work), local tea, coffee and marmalade was a nice touch as was the milk. Local Bread and butter would have made this even better.. Improvement areas would be a new cooker as some of the hob wasn't working in its entirety, more trays for the oven as between a family of 5 one really wasn't sufficient. Kitchen scales would also be a bonus as would beach towels left for guests. The en suite shower does not really work as the shower head sprays over the bathroom due to the design. We were left 42 bottles of water, however I would recommend double this for 5 or 6 people especially in the summer as we had to message for more. Cushions in the lounge would have been a nice touch, understanding Covid regulations, however the cottage next door did have them Garden furniture would definitely be a good thing to have as the stone table and chairs were not really suited for eating outside. Overall a lovely property with a few improvements needed ...however would recommend to anyone who loves quirky and away from the beaten track

Personally it was a dream come true! It was a perfect family holiday. The property was decorated to a high standard, clean and well equipped. Although we came well prepared, the welcome hamper did come in handy. Bed linen & bath towels too ware clean & adequate. The instructions before arrival were clear and in detail. to add to it all, in the 4 days we stayed at Anvil Point we had 4 different seasons! The location was stunning and Swanage close by was too good to be true. We will do it again! Thank you Trinity House and Rural Retreats.

After 2 years of COVID restrictions what a fantastic place to get away from everything. The accommodation was beyond our expectation, ultra clean and well serviced. Excellent hamper to get us started. Walks, places to visit and wonderful views wherever you went and was exactly what we needed. The local cows were an added attraction, but only there for 6 weeks of the year. Wind, rain or sun, you can’t avoid loving this place.
