Lovely secluded peaceful spot.
This property is an amazing haven of tranquillity. It was just what I needed to escape the busyness that was getting me down. I enjoyed walking the paths and bridleways from the doorstep but also visited Acton Burnell castle. The only downside was that all the pillows and cushions contain feathers to which I am allergic. In an age of widespread veganism and covid induced making sure everything is lauderrable I have become complacent about asking in advance about this. As this was part my fault and I still enjoyed my stay it is worthy of five stars. I will be back!
We enjoyed our relaxing stay at bull hollow cottage. It's a spacious place with lovely views. Would advise to take toilet rolls with you as we only had one! We had to go to the shop for more which we hadn't planned. Also we were there for 5 nights take extra towels. The area is beautiful as is the garden. We had lovely walks with our dogs. The tinkling of the stream and the big comfy bed gave us a great night's sleep. The bath was really big with very hot water we enjoyed it very much.
Thank you so much for leaving your review. We are really pleased that you had a lovely relaxing stay and enjoyed the garden and surrounding area.
A fantastic stay and can't wait to return. Dropped 1 star because the oven tray was dirty with oil and onion bhajis. Hamper was fantastic, thank you, but couldn't eat the bread as it was mouldy. However, these minor things would not put us off but unfortunately had to drop a star otherwise 5 stars!
If it was made of gingerbread you would have thought you had found Hansel and Gretal’s cottage. A fairytale magical cottage in perfect quiet surroundings and total bliss. Immaculate cleanliness and tidiness. What more could any one want!! A fantastic hamper of bubbles and biscuits milk, eggs cheese, butter juice and bread so very kind and much appreciated. Will have this on my return list and would strongly recommend this idyllic place to everyone.
What lovely words and fantastic recommendation for the fairytale Bull Hollow Cottage, We are so pleased that you enjoyed your stay.
This is a charming cottage which could be described as a rural idyll. The area is interesting with little narrow twisting lanes (care needed!) and there are a few good places to eat nearby. It is well-equipped. One or two problems with the equipment were swiftly sorted out by the managers. The narrow stairs might not suit everyone. Our major complaint would be the information book left at the cottage. There are virtually no instructions for any of the equipment which is a big drawback but can easily be addressed by the owners. A lot of the information leaflets need replacing. The arrangements for rubbish collection have changed. Several people have asked, in the visitors book, for a history of the cottage and this would be most interesting. It is tantalising not to have this information. We discovered that it is an old hunting lodge. The beautifully made paving outside the property does indeed contain deer’s teeth! The ruinous structure alongside the road opposite the entrance drive is an old tollhouse. There is a lovely piece of garden and woodland surrounding the cottage with paths for woodland walks. Our misfortune (well, it was January) was the exceedingly wet weather - even the paths were almost unusable, the lawn was soggy and it was difficult to walk our two dogs. However, in clement conditions this area would be a delight. In wet weather, what with the fords, poor road conditions and mud, it would be beneficial to have a 4x4!
Thank you so much for taking the trouble to leave your feedback on your stay at Bull Hollow Cottage. We will pass on all your comments and suggestions to the owners.
This was our third visit to Bull Hollow cottage. The setting is perfect for us as we have a reactive dog and it is so peaceful. It is wonder to walk around the wood and play in the water without worrying if another dog or person will appear round a corner. The cottage has a log burner, which is ideal on a winter evening. Idyllic setting.
The cottage is so comfortable with everything you need for a relaxing stay. The location is so peaceful. Both the cottage and the grounds are immaculate. This was our 2nd stay here and we had such a great time again. The welcome hamper was very much appreciated. We would highly recommend a relaxing stay at Bull Hollow.
Thank you for your lovely comments. We are so pleased that you enjoyed your second stay at Bull Hollow Cottage.
Lovely relaxing cottage in the Shropshire Hills. Our dogs loved the woodland walks. Watch out for the Ford though!
We loved the relative isolation in such a well equipped property. The welcome hamper was really appreciated and the property was very warm and comfortable. We would go back.
Absolutely magical place. Quiet and beautiful location. The house was lovely with everything you could need and more provided. The welcome hamper was such a nice touch. Would stay again and again.
What a fabulous review for our special property Bull Hollow Cottage - we agree, it is magical! Thank you so much for taking the trouble to leave your feedback.
The setting of Bull Hollow was idyllic, so peaceful & surrounded by trees. The house is full of character but quite shabby inside & not up to the usual Rural Retreats standard to which we have become accustomed over the last 10 years.
We spent a relaxing and enjoyable week in this fairy tale cottage set in beautiful gardens and woodland. The accommodation was comfortable and welcoming, just a perfect retreat from our city life.
Absolutely stunning, peaceful and private. The garden is lovely. One gripe, various kitchen utensils had bits of food stuck to them as did the bottom of the dishwasher. A minor niggle in a beautiful place
It was perfect ,our second time at bull cottage and will definitely go again.
The house and beautiful garden was perfect for our stay to celebrate my husbands 60th the hamper was a lovely touch we really didn't want to leave
Another amazing stay at Bull Hollow. Just love the peace and tranquility. A wonderful base to return to after exploring Shropshire. Our nervous dog absolutely loves relaxing in the beautiful garden, as do we.
Our second visit to Bull Hollow. Lovely cottage in a beautiful, isolated location. With the garden, stream and woods it's an ideal place to relax.
It's honestly the most magical cottage and setting. Plenty to see in the local area, and lots of pubs too, but we just didn't want to leave the beautiful garden!
A beautiful cottage in a lovely woodland garden setting, spotlessly clean with a lovely hamper to start our stay, so full marks. We had good weather so didn't need a log fire but it was still very tempting, only problem is you want to be there throughout the summer to see every part of the garden as it blooms and we bet the wild strawberries are lovely.
