Dog Walks in East Devon
1. Branscombe to Beer

This scenic 9-mile walk starts in Branscombe village, passing the historic forge, old bakery, and Manor Mill before reaching Branscombe beach. Here you can see the anchor of the MSC Napoli, which famously ran aground in 2007.
The route follows the Jurassic Coast Path up Hooken Cliff, offering stunning views of this UNESCO World Heritage Site, before ending in the picturesque village of Beer. Dogs are welcome, and you can enjoy a meal at one of Beer’s many dog-friendly pubs. Return via the South West Coast Path, crossing a 10-acre wildlife-rich area.

2. Ashclyst Forest
Owned by the National Trust, Ashclyst Forest offers a range of dog-friendly trails. The Clump Walk is a popular two-mile route up Dolbury Hill, with views of an Iron Age fort, while the Plains Walk covers open parkland and ancient trees. Muddy sections are common, so sturdy footwear is recommended.

3. Fingle Bridge
Fingle Bridge is one of mid-Devon’s most enchanting spots, offering two circular walking options. The easier route follows the less steep valley, ideal for dogs who love water.
